Skellie Test Model

New to WH and decided on VC's - awesome models and great background. Starting with some test models to decide on colour schemes. I don't much like the bright bone look so have gone with something a little darker. C+C most welcome!

Hey, that's a really good scheme, it has good contrast & isn't yellowish like BB-based schemes, the red is very well executed, a is the rust on the rivets. An army of these would look stunning!

Anyway, the skellie look really great. I love what you have done with the base. The red are just the right colour to match the spears and contrasts well with the bone. It's a good thing that you went for a darker bone, which is why the darkish red work well together with it.

Looks very nice, was thinking about doing something in the same style with the bone colour, mind sharing how you achieved it?

And as been said before, the red really fits in and the overall standard is just great, will be cool to see a whole unit of these guys.

@ Cryxx: For the bone i started with a base of Charadon Granite, wash of Badab Black, then liberal dry brush of 1:1 CG and BB, devlan mud wash, light drybrush of BB, another wash (i think) then SKull white highlights. A bit long winded but I was playing around for the right look and it didn't take that long really.

This may sound stupid question, but what "BB" means?

Indeed, the skeleton looks superb. I would swear I saw that paint scheme somewhere else...

BB means Biting Blade. If the word is colored light blue with the dots under it, you can hover your mouse on the word and a box will show you what it means.

Yes, I know BB means Biting Blade but I though it means a colour.

BB = bleached bone. But seems to have gone blue and come up with Biting Blade!!

Very nice skelly there!
It has very gothic and dark tone to it with the "more white than most skellies around" and strong dark/black shading.
And yes as Ophi said, it doesn't have the yellowish tinge like many others. Good to see something different
