Snow for Christmas

I have posted some pictures of my Army of the Cairns on the previous version of the forum but I decided to re-paint the sides of the bases brown rather than green and also to add some snow as the army was supposed to be summoned by the Lichmaster during the height of winter. Here is a group shot - struggling to fit the whole thing in.

The army looks neat on the whole. Too bad I can't see any particular details though. Haha, those Skeletons with the scythes makes me remember Hero Quest.

The Bone Giant is brilliant too and so is that Vargulf type thing on the top right.

Keep up the good work. I know I'll never have such an army because I won't be able to keep up that amount of interest in an army. So props to you.

I hope I am not repeating myself by posting these pictures as most have appeared before but pre the snow fall.

There are a few units - Plague cart, Bone Giant, Screaming skull catapult, dire wolves - which are not part of the army of the Cairns but are there for when the army subs as VC or TK - three armies for the price of one.

I have the army of the cairns list,in white dwarf.Im not sure if i can find it on the internet though.If im allowed i may be bothered to copy it in to a post.

The first set are cheap gargoyles from a $2 shop, the second are an old GW ogre with new weapons replacing their broken spears (it's a lead figure, not white metal, so the spear is nearly always broken when you find it)

That's a gorgeous army, and filled with figures even I haven't seen, and I've been playing since the old three book B+W version with the white and brown 3 book Forces of Fantasy supplement. (i.e. the early 80s). Like lots of figures I've never seen, but some old favourites tucked away in there. I ought to put up some pics of my VC army, see what you recognise.

Yep - the snow is there for good.

Quite pleased with the result - doesn't look particularly special from figure to figure but the whole army together looks quite good with the snow

I love the roman style theme going on, really works well with the barrows-esq frame. Brilliant job.
