Most of the accursed snow here seems to have been banished by a heavy dose of rain, coupled with some degrees Celsius above zero. Whoever's controlling the snow - let it stay this way, please.

we have a snow ordanace, and it looks like its somewhere between 4 and 6 inches outside and still coming down

We had 24 inches drop on the ground last week, can still see it sitting on my lawn. Pretty sure its not going away anytime soon :-)

we have about -20 C here. It's cold as hell. (cold as hell, mehehe funny :) ) And the thing lives near here, if you by the thing mean santa claus. ;)

That is on midday? lol our worst was -18 in the night!

Worst still is that 2 weeks ago I had to bring the mail around... at -8 at day :zombie1:

My fingers are still insensitive from it.

I think the worse we had was about -6 in the night, and we was all moaning about it xd I am glad I don't live in the other countries where it gets colder, snows more etc.

based on a true story:
in January 1999, the city of Toronto declared a snow disaster and called in the army reserve to help dig them out of their desperate situation...
...the rest of Canada...called it "winter!!!"

this year Toronto has recieved a grand total of 10cm worth of snow...
...the army reserve is on stand-by to help in the event another 5cm falls on the city...

(i don't appologise to any torontonians here, you guys do kinda deserve it!!!)

we've had no snow along the lakeshore this year sadly, but it's bloody butt-numbing cold right now!!!
-24C with the windchill in a damp environment = feeling like you're outside naked all the time!

worst winter i've ever delt with was ironically Jan '99 when we had close to 8 feet of snow here in burlington and a windchill of -43C!:wow2:
oh, but my school stayed open, despite all the hockey closing down... (which in canada ranks as a national catastraphy!)

cheers!

That's nothing, England pretty much shut down for one day earlier last year when we only had a couple of feet of snow, we really are not prepared for it here.

I live in Wisconsin. 12 inch snow falls is something we don't even blink at. We've only had two such snow falls so far.

Though for the first time in 40 or 60 years UW-Madison had a snow day last month.

DoN is right. By god this country falls apart at the seems when it snows. And even worse is the fact that it all depends on where it snows. for instance, I live in the North East of the country and we must have had a good foot and a half of snow, the news mentioned some snowdrifts 'up north'. Next day: London gets 2 inches of snow and Bam! Whole country goes into meltdown.

I'm enjoying a dry and snowless winter here at the moment, though cold as it is. The white stuff have a nasty habit of appearing here again around February-March though... *fingers crossed to make it not happen*

woot! it's finally snowing over here now!!! not alot mind you, but i hear toronto crying out for help right about now!lol.

and it's only -22C today! so all-in-all, today's been an epic winter day!

cheers!

We've got the same phenomena here in sweden. When the snow starts to fall in and around stockholm, it's a national crisis, and it happens every year! It's like they forget about winter. Every year it's a big fail. The worst part is that people die because of it... :/

Anyway, now we've got about -26 C... and I've gotta go outside to walk the dog... :s

It has settled and it is quite deep now, and still bloody snowing! There is meant to be snow over the next few days so it looks like it won't be getting any better.

Yeah I did move my car thanks Steve, but at the moment it is so bad where I live I don't think I am going be able to drive it. I'm going to take a walk and see what the main roads are like first.
