Your freehand is killer.! Love the moon theme on your banners VERY well executed! That CC is looking awesome too!
Thank you.
Fyi
The freehand on this banner is cheater freehand. The wolf head is a space wolves water decal. I then painted the moon yellow and added the clouds/mist.

Not to much today on the warhammer front. But a little work on the bolt action.

Just a base coat and black wash so far but work none the less.

Thank you. It is from the old mordheim range. Just cut the head off and added a skull. I want the whole unit to be some form of conversion.

Busy last couple plus weeks, but i got a little free time today. While away started to think about fluff/theme for my army. Going off the end times, my thoughts are~
One of Vlads lieutenants in charge of part the ostermark. Colors are yellow and purple and fit with what i got going on now. This now leads me into my work this morning.
Archers.
In a effort to save money/ clean out old models, will make the unit out of old minis around desk. Will update later today with work done.

Got my 16 man unit of archers done. Need to get the bases done and make up a movement tray.
Also started on a King of the Castle.

I love what you did with the Bretonnian archers! Where do the heads in the front row come from, the new skeleton sprue?
Thank you.
And yes the heads are from the new Skeletons. I used a finishing nail cut to size and pinned for the neck.

I guess I officially have a Undead Legions army now.
The archers are for nothing more than fluff/eye appeal for the army.
I and considering my next purchase now. Possibly a third party Vamp to be my official General. I am also toying with idea of some tomb kings if I can figure out a angle that will fit my story.

Awesome work so far, your banners and archers are amazing.

Really liking the yellow touches as well, very distinctive.

Back from the dead.
Here is the work on my Necrarch.

Still a good bit of work to do, but im diggin it so far.
Also, thank you all for the comments.

Here are my thoughts for the back ground of my army. I hope that this will help me to tie everything I got so far and expand it in a more focused direction.
It will focus on the invasion on Bretonnia pre or post death of Mallobaude as the undead gather. This will open up the opportunity to model both undead factions, one being vampire counts trying to subjugate or the tomb kings which are following/brought by Arkhan. I can even add Bretonnians to represent Mousillon if needed or wanted. I will keep the bases similar and have yellow or purple in there color schemes to keep everything cohesive.
Thoughts? Ideas? Critics welcome.

Could be a good plan to get the bret and tomb king models you have mixed together, couldnt think of any others myself tbh unless you want to get overly fluffy and start hacking apart tomb king to make something else.. Which somehow doesnt seem like it'd work since their already built and painted :P

@Tjhammer Brilliant looking ZD you've got going there. It's an awesome kit that I'm looking forward to getting on with at some point in the future.

Excellent paint jobs on all of your other minis, the freehand banners were definitely positive improvements to kill that yellow and the colour scheme you've settled for works really well. Never seen purple & yellow used on undead but they look great!

Keep those minis coming.

Very solid looking dragon :) This light brown dangling skin suit him well.

The rest of your things is also very cool, I especially like the simple, yet great idea of using skeleton heads with bretonnian archers bodies. I am also with Farmer on your choice of colors - it's definitely not the usual choice and you managed it very well.

Thank you all for the views and comments. Here is another update.

A little work on the base and highlights.

I want to start on the rider next but thinking about putting someone else on top other then what came in the kit. Any ideas?

What about a mortarch rider? Anybody have any experience with putting neferata or mannfred on anything other than what there ment for.
Possibly thinking about converting a tomb king into a rider.
Last thought is the mannfred riding the horse.
Not sure which if any of the above I will go for.

@Tjhammer The colours blend really well together.

No experience here but I have a few of the mortarchs which I plan to put on standard mounts. I'm not sure how they'll fit but the worst case scenario would be to just use from the waist up of the mortarch with suitable legs for a standard mount.
