I'm curious as I want to bloody up my ghouls, how did you do your blood effect and what did you use?

I used glue and tamyia clear red. The process is described in this tutorial:

It won't work with just any glue though so if you can't find one like they use in the tutorial you'll have to find an equivalent.

Heres a bunch of photos of the mortis engine I made for this years golden bat in no order at all. It's both WIP photos and some of the finished one.

The engine itself is detachable from the base and smoke part of the model as it is locked in plack with 3 magnets. This is to make it easier to transport. The organ is loose at this time but I might use magnets on that too although it's not really needed as it fits snug in it's space.

The smoke is made with a base of miliput and a metal rod to make it more sturdy and get the general shape. I then put metal wire in to be the base for the smaller smoke plumes.
Then I covered it all with a expanding foam that you use as a sealant in buildings. Not sure what it's called in english though.
The trick is to apply small amounts at a time and build up. I used a toothpick to apply it.
It's not brittle at all thanks to the core of milliput and metal.

That ME is fantastic! Can't say anything the others haven't said already. The church organ idea is brilliant. Love it! Good luck in the comp! Are you sure you'll be able to paint the foam? I am a bit afraid that acrylic colors won't stick on it.

Thanks desfer. I tried spraying a testpiece of foam with primer and it stuck so I think it will be ok. I will also use varnish on it after painting so it won't scrape off.

Completed a model that I started a while back but never finished.

Also started assembling my terrorgheist but I have left the wings and ribs off for now to make painting easier.
Due to the pose I got by mixing the dragon and terrorgheist kits I felt that I needed to do some greenstuffing on the belly too.

I wish the vampiress' face was a little better sculpted, BUT holy crap that's some fine painting. The cloth is particularly life-like.

That vampire looks excellent. My only suggestion would be to clean up the base. Could be the picture, but it seems that it doesn't have the same quality as the rest of the model.

Yes you are right that the base is a bit sloppy. It's just that I'm pretty poor at doing bases and this way of doing it was the way I went for when staring the army.
The base in particular looks better IRL though I think, maybe it's the gloss on it that photographs poorly.

Also if I were to change the way I do my bases I would have to redo the all the bases I have done so far and I'm not to keen on that.

It's been all quiet on the warhammer fron for me for a while but now I am starting work on my skaven to prepare for a small upcoming tournament with some friends. I'm trying to decide on base theme for the army and I'm thinking I want cobblestone... perhaps with gutters or like in a sewer. I have made a test base so please let me know what you think and what I can improve.

I can't manae to take a decent picture so here is both with and without flash. In reality it looks something in between these two images.

Seriously though he weighs 4kg and that's well within the limits of a normal healthy cat. He just doesn't photograph well =)

I do have a bunch of rats from various skaven sprues actually but I'm not sure I want to use them for that. I think I am going to make this doomwheel warpstone powered. Just have to make a generator thingamajig.

I still have alot of work to do though and I often make it up as I go along so we'll see where it leads.
