So when is CN getting their C&D from GW?

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
You worried me then!

Luckily we should be ok from such actions as we strictly monitor things such as scans, points posting etc, so there is very little / next to nothing we do to break GW copyright.

Still that is ridiculous.

Dont use their pictures then you dont have to worry! Our problem was their Aquilla eagle in our logo. Which we reworked a little to late. I complied with their letter and I havent heard anything more from them now, but I still dont feel safe yet as the first letter took several weeks to arrive after first getting a warning in my email ..

We got a fair disclaimer.

We're currently thinking about the new banner. To be honest, I have no idea if it is an infringement or not. But hearing about this - I think it is.

I actually had no idea that this was a GW image too :skull:

I did actually kind of recognize it from an old White Dwarf that I used to read back when I was a kid. White Dwarfs were like bibles to me.

They went after Blood Bowl sites because they had Blood Bowl in their site address.

Personally it seems silly to go after sites that are supporting their products. I can see the IP reasons for the images/rules for models in the game but site addresses is a little much.

I keep saying it's time for me to create a fantasy wargame.

I think GW will start its own KGB in a minute...

They already do, their lawyers and staff.

Luckily the have no copyright on Vampire Counts as it is too common a term, or we might have an issue with our site address.

That might not stop them, and they have more money for lawyers than the fans that run the forums. Now if we can get a good lawyer who would fight the case for them.....

Just checked, and no mention of Vampire Counts:

Look under Trademark information. However someone might want to tell the TK site Khemri, that particular word is covered, so they might get into a bit of trouble.
