Well here I am again asking another question :(

When I was planning the model I am going to make and I thought it would be a great idea to have a spell book. I remember that games workshop had some metal ones...but they are now gone I tried to look for one but I was unable to find one (in my usual places or google). I think making one is almost out of the question.

Anyone have any ideas for a book?

GW necromancer has a spell book, it's under his arm. Do you want it to be open, or closed? And does it have to be a whole book, since if you put it under someone's arm, only half of it will be visible anyway.

Sorry I should have explained that. I wanted it open, the best example I can give it the book on the Mortis Engine.

One of the options for the Empire Battle wizards is a book held open:

You should be able to easily get it from any number of bitz websites

It's certainly not as big as the mortis engine one, were you looking to have it in hand or on a podium or the ground etc?

Here is the book btw.

I was looking at having it on a podium.

This is the model that I was thinking that will do with it. (Might change though): http://www.avatars-of-war.com/eng/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&prodcode=08&prodname=Dark+Elf+Sorceress+with+dragonette&mediumcast=&id=118&Itemid=115

Take some thin plastic or thicker card (Cereal Box cardboard works well, wood tends to be difficult at that thickness), cut it to the size of the cover, then take small pieces of toothpick, you want two sections and put them on either side of the center (Make sure they're the same length as your pages height), glue it together, then take some basic printer paper cut to slightly smaller than the cover piece and put a thin line of glue between the pieces of toothpick and fold the paper in half and attach it in the middle, then a line in the middle of that and a second piece, normally 3 pieces work well.

Once the glue is starting to set, use a bit more glue to spread across the the covers and the bars, use the bars to keep the shape and each set of pages should be attached slightly closer to the center.

Once it dries, take a piece of thicker paper such as construction paper and attach it to one of the toothpick ends and drape it inwards. Prime and paint, the end result looks extremely good.

For a closed book, those are a lot easier, take your thicker paper and a smaller tongue depressor, cur the tongue depressor to size, then glue the paper around it with some overhang on the sides you didn't wrap from and then paint when dry...

hi Kezza, some of the models on this site are awesome. Do they match up okay to GW models/use the same base size etc?
