Terrain: Simple Stable

Hello everyone. Ive been wanting to start VC for a long time. It was the first WH book I got. After looking at the models and finding out they were basically all metal I started Skaven instead. Well 5 armies later my next one will be VC once the new stuff comes out. From what pics I have seen on the web its looking very nice (not costing a fortune helps too).

Anyway I have started to work on terrain for my VC army. Here is a simple stable that is basically done.

The idea is to have a village below and a Counts castle above. Everything will be based individually. Im looking at a church, stable, barn, etc and the castle. Suggestions are welcome.

Nice stable! As suggestions for the castle i would definately sketch a birds eye view of the grounds before building,planning is always good. For more buildings i reckon you will need a butcher,a slaughter house,inn,peasant hovels maybe a market.Each hovel will need farmable area around it.

Thats nice man how did u create the stable what materials did you use ? is its structure made from wood?

Looking at it it looks like he used flat balsa wood and matchstick's.The details are from assorted GW sets.

It is made from craft sticks. The main beams are made from basswood (like balsa only stronger). Though I do use balsa and basswood strips it is much cheaper to use craft sticks when you can. A box of 500 for $3 iirc is a very good deal. I break off the rounded ends and split them up. The base is made of handy board which is like Masonite only not tempered. The hay is dead grass from the yard cut to size.
