Hello all,

With my playgroup we want to build our own terrain, but what are the most common sizes?

This is wat we now use, we now use paper, this is why the sizes are in paperformates :)
Forest: A4
Special buildings: Half and A4 (A2)
Normal buildings: A1
Obstacles: 1 by 6 inch
Hills: almost 2 A4 big

I think these are to big but we down know what is normaally used.

It doesn't really matter in my mind. As it happens though, most of my terrain is roughly A4 or smaller in area (although they tend to be rounded rather than square). The hills you have sound a bit large but as I said, if it looks ok it doesn't really mater.

A good rule of thumb to use is that if you divide the table into quarters (or even thirds), your terrain should be enough to cover one of those quarters completely with terrain. You then simply space it out to play. Going off this and the fact that you generally want around 6 pieces of terrain, each piece should then be around 20cm^2. This is assuming a 6'x4' table and filling roughly a quarter of it with 6 pieces of terrain. It also assumes each piece to be the same size which is rarely the case.
