How do u guys play with your terrorgeist? I have a problem with most armies, as they field lots of cannons/trebs/catapults nowadays. Basically every army. 1 hit and the geist is either dead or useless with weak shrieks. He's an autotarget for shooters, and Death snipes that kill him outright. I fail to see the point of taking him at all.

I only own one, but it's pretty rare 1 cannon shot takes him out. They do require a bit of patience and forethought with regards to protecting it from charges.
Beauty part is it does heal one wound from Invo, and can be healed further with the lore attribute. Multiple lore of vamps casters can keep this thing at full wounds and very effective. Little is more deflating to an opponent who just took 4 wounds off your TG, but when your turn comes around it's back to full strength.
It doesn't take much though to turn your TG into a way overcosted banshee.

Unless you're playing more than 2500 points, you can't fit all 3.

And no, I'm not acknowledging the fact that a Strigoi Lord can ride one.

Must agree with Adam. If the TG is the only thing worth shooting at then it's going to explode.

I've had a blast running a Blender Lord on an AT, a pack of varghiests, and TG. They fly around wrecking everything. Yes the lord can be blasted to bits, the AT could too and then the lord is on foot, and and and... but it's fun.

Well, for a start, I find that he's my best (and often only) way of reliably dealing with Greater Daemons, Daemon Princes etc.

He also has a massive threat-range, allowing me to harass enemies, and influence my opponent's movement and deployment.

He is fragile, but I've very rarely lost mine to shooting. Cannons can still misfire, fail to wound, roll poorly on multiple wounds, or I can simply pass my regenerate. Likewise, Stone throwers can still scatter and either miss completely, or at least miss with the all-important central hole.

If he does get wounded, then I still wouldn't count him as useless. If he only takes 2-3 wounds, then I can manoeuvre within 12" of my main caster, allowing me to heal him with Invocation/Lore-Attribute.

Alternatively, if I can't (or don't want to) heal him, then I can still use him in other ways. In this case, I'll manoeuvre him to scream at something (he can still roll high, after all), and position him to redirect that unit if it charges. Or, If I'm against a shooty army, then I'll position it where he can't charge it, and force him to waste more shooting if he wants it dead.

I find that if I am going up against an army that has a lot of shooting, I will fly them closest to whatever unit I don't think my army can deal with and basically suicide shriek. You will probably get charges and do a little more damage. That way you get your points out of him and he can either take out an entire unit or do some damage to the one you can'l t.destroy

Hey all. Long time lurker. I have a question which has been bothering me for sometime about the TG or any large monster for that matter. I find that due to its large base I have trouble getting him in position. I try to fly him up a flank and wheel to face the flank of an enemy unit but usually due to its large footpring, wheeling is a massive problem and I will often either run out of inches or space or both. It has led me to reconsider his role in my army or to stop using him at all.

Does anyone else have problems manouvering this beast or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks guys! I really should've noticed that in the rules. That makes me so much happier! I should probably go introduce myself. :)
