Yeah it is the old shark fin solution. Glad to see it back though! As for chaos black there is now Abaddon Black as a Base that covers a lot better over bright colors. Nuln Oil versus Badab Black is also a major improvement.

My palette for my Vampire Counts consists of 22 GW paints, 10 P3 paints, and 1 Vallejo color (Brassy Brass, to replace my beloved Brazen Brass). I expect I'm going to be replacing all of the GW colors with Vallejo now.
i got to use them last night and i really like them they are amazing and they still work well with the current/old range of paints by gw, now what i dont like is that i need to spend 600 bucks to get the full set

My friend is considering buying a complete set, I'm curious to see the colours myself now.
I have a might bit of a collection I literally just bought (Like hardly much use so far), so it's a little unfortunate, but I'm certainly not diving on the complete set, but I could certainly see myself buying that. I mean it's certainly a lot at once, but.. I am fairly sure I have thrown away that much value of GW paints in the past (Arrg from the horrid old ones that dried up so many times on me?!), so I don't take too much qualms with purchasing something like that, especially if the quality is improving.

Nah not overreacting, just worried. Things is the new bases paint more like regular paint. They are not as thick and also don't dry as fast as the Foundations. I loved Foundations but found them to thick.
These new Bases are just more pigment heavy in coverage but behave like regular paints. I used the Ceramite White for some freehand swirls on top of black and it was awesome!
It's too bad that they're having to change the colors after there trading/ business negotiations tanked with China (I talked to one of the GW painting reps at my local center who was non too pleased). I did like some of the colors in the GW range, mainly their metals, but I haven't used those paints in a while.
I use artist acrylics now: Jo Sonja's. I love them as they come in big tubes, have awesome pigment ratios, dry in a nice matte finish and are INCREDIBLY easy to blend with.
These new paints should be interesting to see though.

You can really thin the paints well, much thinner than what can be accomplished with GW paints. I find it a bit easier to build up finer layers of paint with Jo Sonjas. Also, the dry time is much longer with JS than GW's, which is either a blessing or a curse to some. Now I'm not knocking GW paints at all, it's just my preference. If you had asked about five years ago when I first started painting, I would have liked GW paints more.

Is it just me, or are the spray paints gone from the GW site? Is it something to be worried about or dose it mean we will get new ones (and possibly other colours than black and white)?

Thanks for that Red. For that exact same reason I prefer Vallejo and think glazes of colour over a thick all encompassing layer of GW paint. I usually have most colours at about a 1:4 ratio to water. Still trying to perfect that technique of blending both up and down from my mid tone while encompassing warm highlights and colour shadows derived from the mid tone colour ( green for 40k Orks ). The rust effects I have somewhat mastered will be fantastic for the rusted armour on the wights/skeletons.
I will also try to do a more ethereal/realism feel to the majority of the Vampire Counts when I come up with a colour scheme which will probably be magenta at this point.
For me the old ranges liked to dry out. In addition, skull white and bleached bone and gold, were like washes, the ones I had were all useless unless you wanted to use 8 coats.
The new ones don't need a dozen coats, paint over black aswell as white, I am happy enough with them.
