Okay, so this is my second paint log and it is for Firestorm Armada, the Terran Alliance to be precise. I hope its okay to post this here, since I know its an undead forum, but this is going to be a ghost fleet so maybe its okay? So anyway, only two ships first to test out colour schemes.

With the missionary class I decided to go with an ethereal look since they are likely to be my most numerous ships and they are also the smallest. As for the Armsmen class that resembles how many more of my ships will look as it has their basic colour scheme, plus the damaged look, note that this is my first actual attempt so please be gentle ^^"

You found the right sub-forum for non-VC plogs so don't worry about that :)

About the ships, I think they look quite cool. The white parts of the hull looks a bit flat though, maybe a thin wash could help bring out some details?

About weathering, one thing you could try is to instead of drybrushing the black/dark brown and he metal paint on, you use a something closer to strippling. Have more paint in the brush and stab against the surface. Don't use your best brush though ;)
This should give it a more haphazard look.

Also, that is a very British photographing background you are using xD

I always use that @maddy cos our kitchen has about the only white light in the house and with my brother and dad around that is probably the neatest surface in the room :\ What is strippling? o.o and yes I tried washing on one of the ships but it came out a lot dirtier than I'd hoped and not in the good way, I might try again now that I'm more experienced with thinning washes but I do recognise it is very flat. I've never really tried models like these before really.
