Wow, two more superb entries. This compo is certainly starting to get interesting.

Come on people - more entries, your model could be part of CN's new banner and seen by VC players worldwide!

I'm hopefully going to be entering but i need to find something to enter first.
Its a bit hard when your army consists of a single zombie!

Cheers,
Mike.

Question: I have a Vlad von Carstein model that I painted for Golden Demon last year. After talking with one of the 'eavy Metal Team people who was there, I have since repainted a few parts of it- small stuff, though, and a lot of the changes are subtle. Would this qualify, or should I hurry up and finish my Grave Guard?

Here a little problem, possibly. I do not own a full command group for my Black Knights, neither do I plan to ever get one. Would it be okay to enter the champion and just 2 normal Knights?

EDIT: Oh, just realized I could also enter the champion on his own, as a mounted Wight King. Well, you may want to answer the question anyway, in case some other person has a similar problem.

Final Entry: Varghulf

VARGHULF: FINAL ENTRY

This Varghulf was created and converted from a base model(just see the ribs), The wings are from a Balrog, The arms, hands, tale and tounge from a Black Dragon. The biceps and forearms are spliced from a pink horror with the bicep bone coming from a Ghoul bone they carry. The head is converted and sanded down from the Orc Totem piece. The large spike coming out of the top is from a 40k tyranid piece, boo I know but the bit was cool and fits with the army theme. The wings and various spots are greenstuffed to give a fur effect and the model is pinned on a Armorcast skull pile. Skeleton bits are skattered around the base of the model.

Is there any way to make my pictures bigger?

Enjoy

It was converted in January and painted over two months with GW paints.

Chuck

Yes. I forgot to put them in.

I would say no for Vlad, as it would mean that people can enter any model by just quickly changing something small which wouldn't be fair to people who have put in the time and effort to paint full models or units.

Hmmmmm. For now I will stick to the rules, just because we are no so far along and it would be unfair on others who have already chose their entry based on the existing rules. However I will probably change the rule for the next Golden Bat.

Gotcha, I understand what you mean. Grave Guard it is... probably. I always find some new wacky thing at Games Day... or maybe I'll finish my Corpse Cart. We'll see.

Nice Konrad there, by the way... I wasn't too happy with the way the model looked from the Army Book, but painted with dark armor it's actually pretty cool. I might have to grab one now.

With any luck I'll be able to pick up a drying retardant tomorrow so I can wet-blend properly. In which case, my necromancer should be done by the weekend for this :)

FINAL ENTRY

Out of my grave guard unit comes a Wight Thane, raised back to undeath in service of my vampire.

It's a dwarf lord with great axe model, with head clipped off and replaced with corpse cart skeleton. Beard is greenstuffed to blend in with the beard on the model itself, along with reconstructing the start of the ponytail. Arms were clipped off and replaced with arms from the skeleton warriors sprue.
