Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I have uploaded any pictures to the forum. I haven't painted Vampires in a long time (and don't foresee myself being able to paint a whole lot in the upcoming months), but in the meantime I present to you another project that I have been working on for the past year and a half: the Golden Legion of Amhotep the Second.

I painted this army in pretty bright colors, which is quite unusual for me. I wanted some bold colors to complement the gold's in the army. Also, I wanted a warm and flat color scheme to try to reflect the 'Egyptian' feel of the army. So I chose orange and green as the primary colors.

Anyway, enough talk. Here is a teaser picture of His Majesty himself.

Oh this looks great and promising, very fitting colours and great painting! Did you build those trays by your own or are they pre-build? Anyway, wonderful overall job!

Thanks. They are actually made by a UK-based company called Base-X-of-War

Couple more pics of some snake herders and a hierophant

Thank you sir.

I've got 24 of the following guys. The models are a bit lacking in terms of the static poses, but I think they are so cool. They remind me of the old days when Undead (Tomb Kings and VC) were a single army

You can give some (light) variety very easy, cut the hand right under the armlet (or wristband? dunno :P) and change the weapon pose in 90° so the weapon hilt points to the front..(It's even possible if you have them painted yet, if you are careful). It's not that much reposing, but brings a little variety in those similar poses.

And again, nice work

That unit of old mummies is fantastic! I love those old models, I wish GW would re-release them or something. I really like the movement trays - I wonder if I could have a go at a similar effect with greenstuff to layer on as tombstones onto a normal movement tray? Might be worth a go :) I am looking forwards to the next update.

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. Most of the mummies are already primed/basecoated but I'll consider changing some poses once I get some time to paint again. In the meantime, here is a picture of Amhotep's unit:
