That garden looks very nice!
Are you painting that over a white undercoat per chance?
I personally paint all of my models over white, but made the mistake of undercoating my garden black (as it was the only spray I have any left of).

I like the necro conversion as well, keep 'em coming!

That corpse cart looks great The keeper... what is your recipe for zombie flesh? that is pretty much exactly what I'm after with mine

Thank you. I first sprayed everything black, then used masking tape to cover up the bits i wanted to be dark like the stone floors etc, then gave it a few dustings of white spray, which gave the stone work a grain effect which the pic's dont show to well :(.
But my necro conversion was from a pure white undercoat as i had run out of black and had to raid my other halfs tomb kings supplies, must say white undercoating is growing on me may do a few more from white and see what results i get.

From a black undercoat the zombie flesh recipe is as follows:

1) Rotting Flesh (had to do two coats of this to cover the black without it looking patchy)
2) Wash of Devlan Mud and Ogryn Flesh (done theses washes at the same time mixing the two on the model)
3) Highlighted with Rotting Flesh
4) Highlight 1:1 mix of Rotting Flesh and Bleach Bone on extreme edges

Hope this helps

Now that Gardens out the way, I decided to go back and quickly rework some minis basically just to repair chips and generally refresh/ improve them. So here they are...

Now setting out to complete a unit of 20 Skeletons as you can just about make out in the background on the above pics.

One a side note I forgot I had put my finecast Mannfred in Watered down Dettol just over a day ago, came back to find it hand practically disintegrated into a greyish blob :O. Dont know if anyone one else has had this happen?

Fantastic work. I love the colours. Do feel on an aesthetic level that the countess could use slightly smaller boobs however.

Thanks Sanai, I think the boobs are a tad over the top but i blame my mate who said and i quote " vampires don't come any bustier than Isabella" so I went out my way to prove her wrong. Doubt it will ever see my painting area at least not for a while anyways.

Works been taking over again, but spent a few hours enhancing the ethereal parts on my Coven Throne and Spirit Hosts so that they now match my Wraiths and Banshee. Also got three more skeletons painted using a slightly different recipe just to speed things along a bit. So here are some pics....

Cheers Santa, its slow work but getting there.

Today i managed to get my Black Coach paint stripped figured it would be better to start over than patch it up. Also tried a new zombie skin method which ended in total failure . So switched to working on a Grave Guard tester model who turned out ok.

Grave Guard Test mini.

its late but got the painting bug so off to prime the shields for my skeletons

Here is a close up of the axe. Even though I always planned to do glowing weapons on my Grave Guard I'm not sure if I will stick with it. Its one of those times where one minute I like it, next I don't lol :smash:

Hey all, just back with a quick update not been able to get things done as quick as would hoped due to work, GB project and life, still been lurking about my paint area when I can. Today I hammered into my models determined to get things done. Got my Mortis engine all primed ready to go , clean mold lines off a my crypt horrors so there now ready to prime, Re-kitted out my unit of 10 grave guard with swords and shields to great weapons adding them to my other unit making it a healthy 28 strong. Then spent the rest of the day working on a good zombie flesh tone that fits in with my overall theme been trying loads of recipes I have seen online but nothing really worked in the end just kept mixing colours, anyways this is how the tester looks. Any feed back with him would be great as I am really not sure on it

Hey hey all,

Figured as I'm not getting things finished as quick as I was hoping I decided mainly to try and boost my output, to do WIP shots of what im working on. So with only one core tester left to do (dire wolves)things are looking up ready for a mass paint up. Was hoping to redo my terrorgheist which was dry brushed to undeath and is really badly based just to get it done in time for a game when it was released but have decided it's behond saving. So now with the mortis Engine being freshly primed and the last of the large minis left for me to do that it would be perfect to start a WIP series on.

Really love the Mortis Engine mini so hoping to do it some justice with my painting. That's enough ramblings from me here is the starting of the spirit horde.

So from a black undercoat and about two hours work this is how it stands. Will be finishing of the metals tonight and touching up the inside of my grave guard tester weapon (well spotted Monkey)
