The time has come to start my log. This is my first WHFB Army. Above you see my first Grave Guard (LorR conversion) w/ Wight King and Banshee behind. Black Knights (DE Dark Rider conversion) on the left and on the right a Master Necromancer (HE conversion for Island of Blood) and a mounted vampire (Privateer Press Warmachine conversion)

I really enjoy the converting process and making models unique

This is Isabella with custom hair made from a Warmachine model and greenstuff. I use her as a vampire hero and temporarily as my lord general.

Crypt Horrors are the biggest baddest guys around. I felt that the GW model doesn't do them justice, so I used a Mantic Deadzone model and they are now my favorite unit.

The GW BK models are cool but i wanted to sue the DE Dark Rider models. This is what I came up with so far.

Some WIP characters. From left to right, necromancer (Dark Haven WE Wizard w/ scythe) Winged Strigori Ghoul King, Master necromancer (HE Mage)

Mounted Vampire Lord (Forge World Conversion) with his Masque of the Red Death

Everything is WIP so you can see a lot of painting mistakes. I'm currently working on GG and Mortis Engine. I also have a lot of core I'm working on - skeletons, wolves & Mantic stuff. Considering re-doing my ethereal from teal to a more blue/green.

Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated

You're off to an awesome start there, mate. A few stream-of-consciousness thoughts:

Terrorgheists are freakin' awesome, and your unified color scheme throughout the army certainly makes it feel like one solid force.

Those grave guard models are awesome. Mind sharing the conversion recipe?

Isabella's hair is great, reminds me of Maleficent. I need to go see that movie.

Note to self: buy Mantic Dead Zone models to use as crypt horrors. Holy crap are those some great models!

DE Dark Rider models look great as Black Knights. Superb paint job certainly doesn't hurt.

Love the tyrannid wings on the strigoi, and the high elf mage conversion looks great. Where does the beastman skull come from, if you don't mind my asking?

Phenomenal use of Leitpold the Black from Forge World. Makes me want to buy that model ASAP. Where did the head come from? Is it a conversion?

Can't wait to see more from you! Keep up the great work and keep posting such nice pics!

Thanks Duke I'm trying to make it look like patina (like statue of liberty)

Grave guard are LotR - Warriors of Minas Tirith. They are one whole model, so lots of converting to do. I chopped of heads and replaced with skulls, mostly from skeleton kit. Then arms are from normal GG.

Mantic Deadzone Plague Stage 1A. The CH box is so expensive that it actually comes out to cheaper per model. But the model has only one static pose so I had to do a lot of converting and I added some normal CH heads in there.

The wings are Dark Eldar Scourges. I actually got some tyranid wings as well but these looked the best. Beastmen skulls are labeled from WE dryads.

The head of my general is DE sisters of slaughter. I bought witch elves for custom spirit hosts and they were extra bits. Paint scheme is not finalized for them yet.

thanks for the feedback!

@EternallyUndying: Great looking army  I share your love of converting and making unique looking minis and armies. I think Benviolio summed my thoughts up nicely, but I really love the Isabella conversion and the crypt horrors. I will be keeping an eye on your forces and look forward to seeing them grow ;)

Great start!

You got some fantastic conversion going on. Must follow in with the rest and praise the Crypt Horrors, those models look awesome for the job. I like the painting on the one in the background with green carapace and red flesh beneath, very striking.

The skeletons look cool too but I'm not sure on the Black Knight. I like the conversion but the green skin looks kinda off. I get that it is to tie them together with the rest of the army but I think some other colour could work better on them. Perhaps a darker green or brown would work better. Not sure and it is possibly too early to tell since it is still WIP.

Looking forward to see more.
