Well honestly this a bad match up for vampires, the best thing to do is stall the temple guard unit with zombies so they never see combat or if they do its so late in the game it does not matter. Then just kill the rest of his army, at that point he will have to spread out his buffs to other units and you should still be able to over come that with good generalship....or you could take shadow and say F$%^ you here is a pit of shades on your I1 army.

Played the local Lizzie guy on the weekend.

I was playing my soft list, big mistake! he also wasn't tailoring, but even then he does not rock LIFE he always takes LIGHT in all circumstances, most people rekon it's a weak lore, i know from using it with my vampire that this is not the case!
so him taking lore of light pretty much hurts me bad, net of amok us the unexpected tactical spell, i used to quite the effect when i was using it, & so did he! got my grave guard to go no where for 2 strait turns incl VHD!
yes i only had to roll 5-6 for that to fail. but you know what happens when you need to roll low/high, you always get the opposite result!
he also took remove your 6's in magic, = bad for me! i had a black coach, which is standard, he only lost 4 dice all game long! (just luck) sat next to a arcane ruins with a skink priest channeling up to 4 dice a turn. always adding 1-2 to his pool etc.

all in all i had alot of bad luck, but even then i just could see the best result i could get was a close game, no way could i earn a crushing victory with only lore of vampires. even VHD on ghouls & ws7 skeletons with VHD could not get me out of trouble!

but as i said this was my soft list, only 1 lore, GG with no GW & no banner of burrows, no hatred, (instead razor banner) i was actualy surprised with the GG with shields & razor standard. making them WS7 was enough to make them killy with KB & Armor piercing. then 4+ AS & parry was better than i expected. i almost felt like a unit of WoC warriors with less attacks (apart from base size) & KB to boot!


anyways im at a loss what to do, his list is made for the SAME torni that im going to & theres a comp score in it. mines going for the highest (ergo no hatred or burrow banners) & no drakenhof. do i break the guidelines & make a lvl4 lord (which won't achieve much) or do i take lore master death, as it's good against all armies?

the guidelines get you -comp for lvl4, & anything with loremaster, then is rated by a panel of judges. so i haven't taken any major combination's to be frowned upon as dirty, have no loremaster or lvl4.
however he thinks that out of "6" comp score he will get the "4" mark, i said dude, you have a general slann in a bunker who can't NOT be lvl4 & then you throwing everyone 6's in casting away & have taken 5+ channel on the slann.
they will see what you are doing even with lore of light, & i said you best hope for a 2 mark at best.

Well, first of all "throwing everyone 6's in casting away" I want to make sure you know the slann can only have one wizard lose all PD lose 6's. Don't let any forked tongue tell you differently . WS 7 should do wondrous things for you as the saurus WS is 3. Aside from that, I'd recommend reading the other posts here as there are a lot of suggestions and by random chance, once of them has to work.
Bad luck is hard to plan for unfortunately

As far as how to make a list that fits the guidlines of the tourney, perhaps making another thread would work better under the legions of the damned section.

I did try to, but i keep on getting a BB forum error, in every way ive tried, i think it's the new "List creator" thing screwing around with it.
contacted moderator but got no reply, so unless i tag it into someone else already created topic see. but i don't really hi-jacking threads.

my main thing was to add some disposable necromancer caster with feedback scroll & sivejir's hex scroll, dosh my non banner wight king bsb & put it on my 4+ ward lvl2 caster. some minor calamities to make a slann & other casters freak out

Wasn't accusing you of hi-jacking, just thinking you'd get a better audience since on this thread, you'd only get those interested in commenting about LM
Feedback scroll may not do too much to the slann as he still has a 4+ ward save and 5 wounds and is hard to reach. Hex scroll is also somewhat tough for the slann as he is lvl 4 (so 33% chance of success... otherwise 50 points down the drain). It's kinda funny to turn a slann into a toad... it may be worthwhile to use on a lvl2 priest though, especially on an EotG.

Yeah, don't bother with those scrolls for Lizardmen, they're rubbish. You're far more likely to bag something like a Wood Elf or Orc wizard with them tricks.

If your tournament's judges have any sense at all between them a Lizardmen list like that one will be rated very low, and rightly so. Still, you can't fault him for having the 5+ channel item, would you rather see Cupped Hands?
