I wish there were more I could give you aside from encouraging words DoN, but that's really all there is to it - you, your arrow keys and an endless amount of objects to avoid. It is a bit intimidating at first and the learning curve for a beginner is huge but once you get into it, it's quite rewarding.

'Huge' learning curve? Bah! You're too easy on him. I've played touhou, and I want to throw my laptop across the room after two levels. Seriously, that game is ridiculously hard.

True, one might require a trait or two of masochism in order to really enjoy games like that. I for one meet the grinding challenges head on with a smile and a feeling of being sexually positively aroused. I have a very hard time with so-called "noodle-scratchers" though...
