Well I know a bit myself

NLP, hypnosis, persuasion; whatever you call it, is all down to the mind doing something if it expects it to happen. For instance I might go up to you and act like I am going to punch you in the face and you will flinch, even if I don't actually hit your face. This works in a similar way to the simple trick at the beginning, which is really a little mind exercise for the er.. victim to let her get the hang of what he is talking about. It is also a good idea to get really good at the floating hand efore moving on to anything else.

If you are just thinking "ok my hand will go up" it will not work, as your subconciousness does bit truly think this is going to happen. You have to believe with all your heart and soul that this is going to happen, that your hand is really going to do this. When I do similar stuff with my friends as party tricks, I find it usually helps them to imagine anything that might make the hand go up, for instance, a fan underneath it, or balloons tied to your hand, anything but just really vivid, you can imagine te force pushin your hand up. Once you have the hang of this, see what works for you (very important) and try the sticking to the table.

Also there is the possibility that it just doesn't work for you, it happens
