Hello again all!

Well, things have gone out of hand a bit, which is something that always pleases me. What started out life as a simple tomb theme going in the old school Undead direction has started taking a somewhat radical turn. Fluff is, as usual, to blame. The writing of my fluff (I will be posting the first instalment soon, hopefully) and the general plotting and planning has expanded my ideas.

Those who want to avoid spoilers for my fluff may want to check in on this thread at a later date.

I'm placing my Tomb Army in Loren Forest, largely in the Wildwood. In fact, I'm taking a few liberties, particularly the idea that the old "gone mental" treeman Ariel had to seal up has being driven mad by Nagash, and that he's managed to entomb an undead army with its own bloodline deep within it. Given that Loren is next to Bretonnia, and that most of their fluff is a synergy of the various strains of Celtic Myths (particularly British and some Irish) I've run with that theme, so my Vampire Bloodline is called the Fomorii, named after a pre-cursor God-race (that got killed/evicted in the usual post-mythos way) from Irish Celtic Mythology.

The Fomorii are good to use for this: they're grotesque, and not at all nice. Plus, they were pretty much eradicated according to Myth, so ideal for a lost bloodline lying in wait. So I have a few things to share at this early stage, although sorry for the rubbish pictures. Still having camera problems.

Balor, King of the Fomorii
Balor is, to my knowledge, one of the very few named Celtic Formorii. He fought the Tuatha De Denann, beating them once before being slain. His most noticeable feature was his singular eye that was apparently devastating, so I've used a Dark Eldar Medusae model:

I think I've made a good start, but he's a bit plain. Equipment wise, he's going to be a pricey blender lord (Vamp Lord, Hvy Armour, Lv4, Red Fury, Quickblood, with Skabscrath to represent his Eye), so I'm not sure whether to give him a shield, or what details to use. I was thinking of giving him small wings, or more likely a vampiric cape, or some other decoration to hide the rather "futuristic" armour style.

Fomorii Warriors
For the rest of the Fomorii, I'm using Dark Eldar Mandrakes, and I've just started supplementing 4 of them with bits from the Empire Wizard Sprue:

And finally some Necromancers. The first picture is the product of the Empire Wizard sprue, nothing much to see there, really. The second two are of a model I grabbed from Heresy. Getting the staff in a vaguely infantry block friendly position is a pain in the arse, but it's a nice model:

Sorry for the vaguely slow start, but I'm in the middle of about 20 different projects and a lack of a good digi-cam to boot. This'll be slow burn but I'll try to update it as I can.

Its looking good but Be careful with the new weapons, they were not made for arms their size so they can come across over sized and you may need some gree stuff to fill the gaps and smooth the joins.

Yep, already made a start on that!
