Are you armoring your knights with the plastic or the metal ;)?
Hey it's October! You know what that means? HALLOWEEN!!! Which for me is an excuse every year to make a new suit of armour. Last year it was 9th century viking this year it's 10th century crusader. :D

Plastic was the answer I was looking for. Plastic.

What kind of arm will the wight king have?
The one he came with. He is the raised corpse of Sir. Giles. A very noble grail knight who found himself in the wrong family at the wrong time.

One day my head will be cracked open and all the fluff will come pouring out. Till then: Have faith. And hope that you never have to face Sir. Giles or his son.

dictator said:
Will he be the bsb?
Not in the standard sense (no pun intended [No really]) He is of course carrying a grail though. Which kinda makes him a figure that people should recognize with the same amount of awe. He will act as BSB in certain smaller games where I need one. He is part of my support force.

However a certain model has already been selected for the armies BSB. One that has always had a special place in my heart.

I like the look still, look forward to seeing them painted.
Patience is a virtue.

That's a lie. It's not one of the seven virtues at all. Nevertheless. Quit your complaining. I have been building this army for over a decade. There is no need to start rushing now.

ny full army pics? pretty please?
Hmmmm. There are still things to build. See this is why I wanted to finish building everything before I went back to painting. But I got side tracked by snails and bats and things.

Your fell-bats are looking very promising, can't wait for the finished pictures.
Why thank you.

I can barely wait myself.

Good to hear you like to take your time. I find that if I am starting to hurry a project along, I'll drop it for a bit. Main reason being that I tend to make careless mistakes when I become rushed.

You understand exactly.

I now have in my possession everything I need to finish this army. So there is no rush to get hold of things now before they disappear.

I think in future - if I can I might try and track down some more of the olde skeletons to add to my army. Maybe even add another unit of Black Knights and Fell Bats. But if this becomes impossible then so be it. I already have the urge to build a Bretonian army. Maybe that will be my next mission. Nothing near as impressive as my Vampires. Couple thousand points max. I wanna build a filthy, dirty, peasant heavy force.

So glad that the forum returned. I had a very important private message waiting for me. I will (With luck [fingers are very much crossed]) be obtaining three more screaming skull catapults to add to this army.

They will be perfect for my "Legendary Battle" force. A nice battery of skull chuckas.

While the board has been down progress has been made. I took pictures but am currently away from my own computer and camera. So be patient I will get those up this evening. I am going to be playing rock band for the rest of the day.

Oh my, I would love to have a few more of those too! Skull Chukkas are awesome. I've been looking around patiently for a while. I think I'll be getting some soon enough. Either way great to hear your almost done.

By the way, what is legendary battle's? I've heard it mentioned here and there but never really explained. Is it just a knock off of warhammer?

Ah now I remember. I'm a very visual person. The batt rep was about the empire and the orcs right? If I remember correctly too, the Empire had about 100 knights. The orcs had a huge siege machine that looked like one of their gods with a ram in its belly.

You may think this is lame but I have wanted ghouls in my army for years but have never been able to afford it.

@Vulf von Carstein: You can aquire the undead head which Seth is using upon his Wight Lord's steed from once of the Necromancer blisters which include a mounted and dismounted version.

@Seth: Really looking forward to seeing those ghouls painted, and nice conversions on the weapons.

Ummmm.... No it's not.

The mounted necromancer comes with a pretty normal horses head unfortunatly.

This one is from the Necrarch vampire blister. As you said. One on foot one mounted.

I am glad someone noticed my tiny ghoul conversions. No two in the unit are the same. I am especially proud of the broken sword in the front rank.

The snips died while cutting the robes off the black knight champ. Stupid thing to use them for I know, but no one was injured except my snips. So we can all be thankfull to the gods of model making for that and think back on this as a learning experience.

HA! Those dang clippers will do that to you. Especially when you need them the most. I would suggest getting a saw of some type, with small teeth. That's what I do with most those heavy cutting projects.

I agree about the ghouls too. I hadn't thought about doing those weapons changes. Good to see your thinking outside the box.

Bravo! I love it all.

But I am most intrigued to see how you will fill up the corpse cart (if at all). I fashioned my own out of a boar chariot I had laying around, but throwing zombie models in doesn't really do it and I'm not sure what I'll end up doing. Do you have any plans as of yet?

Its been a while Seth - hope your not slowing down lol?

So why the detest of unit fillers?

The giant is ace, a great idea. Though from what I can see he doesn't seem to look too dead? He looks like he could do with some more wounds etc. I'd really like someone to attempt a hole through a giant, like a cannon ball has blasted straight through him.

He is pretty fresh looking at the moment. His eye sockets have been carved out and he now has a spear sticking out of his gut. The paint job will clarify to all that he is in fact dead. He has a few gashing wounds at present and will be getting some green stuff rot. Also: He looks like a pin cushion from behind.

There will be lots of blood and rotting flesh tones.

Why do I not approve of unit fillers?

In my opinion it's basically cheating...

Well, I have to say, I am absolutely enthralled with your spirit hosts. One thing I must ask though, do you use the Thraka Green Wash without watering it down?

That giant is coming along great Seth. Now you have started painting it, I can can get a better idea of what its final look will appear like. Can't wait to see the finished product.
