Well, here it is. Feel free to skip the boring blahblah and get to the pictures!

Background;
My brother started the hobby when he was little. He let me paint a space marine, I thought it was awesome fun but the whole 40k thing never appealed. Then fast forward 7+ years and my boyfriend mentions that he painted fantasy when he was little. I ask do you want to now? Then we head to Games Day ('11) in Chicago with my Dad and brother.

My brother started getting into GW stuff because my Dad, who works in the plastics industry (he buys/sells machines, appraises etc etc.) was contacted by a person in Game Workshop about some production stuff. I believe it was about making the army cases.

The first set of mini's I'm posting I actually painted a while ago, however I'm almost done the skeleton unit I've been working on.

I'll start off with my almost complete first vamp. She was great to paint. I just need to add some basing and dirty up the bottom of her dress. She isn't my general.

Yes, he is using a Dark Elf Sorceress' staff. I stole his for my general who may or may not use it; just the way it goes when your serving a dark lord I suppose. xD

Next up ZOMBIES! Considering how many of these I have to paint I spent way to much time on the first few. They'll be the pretty zombies at the front of the unit.

For some reason it totally slipped my mind to base before priming but I suppose its excusable as these were the first minis I put together.

First model painted for my VC Army:

The Horde so far:

I like my zombies ragtag. I'm not going for an overall color scheme other than they all have the blue glowing eyes.

In the process of being raised.

I know zombies don't have champions but this guy is my zombie champion. His name is Grenouille, I also call him the Fat Friar.

Lol, I'm loving the frog on a stick, I painted my bretionnian mucisian's drumsticks the same way xD

Nice start for an army btw, the blue eyes looks cool. Are you planing on continuing that trend on the skeletons?

Thanks! It was supposed to be the fat friar's last meal. Now its animated with him (note it has the blue eyes as well. I think I'll make them a bit brighter).

I am planning to continue the theme of blue glowing eyes through out the whole army. My ghouls will probably only have light blue pupils, to show they are under the effects of my vamp's will but not truly undead.

EDIT: Images broke due to excessively long url's as best as I can tell, fixing them now. :)

Here's a quick update with my almost finished skeletons. They are about 90% base coated. Just a few more details on some shields and I can start having fun with washes, highlighting and rusting. Next time I am using Army Painter bone colored spray. Never again will I be hand coating bleached bone onto 20 Skeletons.

The Bubbling Warp-Pit... Er. Simple Green Pit.

Old Orcs to be cleaned from a local game store dump bin that no longer carries GW. I'm going to scrounge a head and then turn them into zombi-orcs. I want to have a wide variety of races mixed in. My brother asked why I didn't just repaint them. Then I showed him the modelling grass stuck to their stomachs...

TO DO: (And thats not even half of it... o_0)

Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. I'll be watching your progress! Nice work with the Necromancer and glow on the zombie musician's eyes.

Thanks! I love your frozen themed army. I can't wait to see more updates from your skaven as well. xD

I never base before priming. I prefer to sand, then ink my sand, then highlight. I never got into pre basing for some reason and don't really care for painting primed sand.

Thanks everyone for your comments!
Forlorn: Its good to know I'm not the only one.
BloodbathMcGrath: Yellow would look really cool, green and blue are pretty common but I don't think I've ever seen yellow.
Seneschal: Thanks, I had a lot of fun with the scythe.

I took a quick break from my skellies well, forced break due to getting sick. (Quick, crappy cell phone photos)

Just got back to it and then disaster... In the form of a PAINTSPLOSION!

(This is actually rather large, almost the size of my hand)

That's hawk turquoise... All over the wall, my pants, shirt, me, those two models etc. I switched a couple of my citadel paints to dropper bottles. Don't think I'll be using those particular bottles again since they seem to like to clog then ESPLODE. :zombie:

I really don't have the heart to try and cover up a bunch of it on my standard bearers foot so he's going to be trekking through some thick mud. Before the whole turn of events sunk in I fixed the other skeleton.

All I wanted to do was paint some verdigris!
(The paint is out to get me.)

I know it's been a while, but I saw you post in a thread 'round recently I think, so you're about. Wondering if there's any updates for your army? Looks like you were on a roll for a minute. I really like your zombo champ. It's fun making little character models like him, and it's way cool to me when people do it in their armies. so, moarr. :pumpkin:

Yep I have a number of updates that I should really post up. I was working on my Ghouls a bit today because tiny little bones make me crazy after awhile. I took a break from this sort of painting because my friends and I started an online Magic: The Gathering store and have been vendoring at events. I also started altering cards on commission which takes up time but funds the hobbies.
