Hello. This is a piece of background on my Vampire Lord, Count Vashra (okay, that's my username, but it just sounds so great and suitable
. There's another twist: Count Vashra was an Elf
Edi: This is now Chapter 1.
Edit: Before siring, Count Vashra was a High Elf Noble of Caledor. He had a sister called Eleanor Greensea, and a special relationship with his Dragon, Idracna. Vashra and Eleanor had grand plans of Vashra becoming a Prince, or even Phoenix King, and Vashra worked towards his goal by doing impressive feats, and political manoeuvring and manipulation. He planned and schemed for decades, but was interrupted by and invasion of Ulthuan by Malekith the Witch King and N'Kari, a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh. Vashra and Idracna fought hard to defeat the Druchii and Daemons, and protect Eleanor. Also, Vashra sent his eenmies to the front lines, as a covert way of removing them. Eventually, the Druchii and the Daemons were repulsed, but when the casualties were counted and the combatants returned home, Vashra found Eleanor was missing, and Idracna was badly wounded. Vashra relaised what had happene to Eleanor, but before he could act, Idracna declared that he would be travelling to the Plane of Bones, for he felt his life was ending, and Vashra begged to go with him. After an argument, the Dragon relented, knowing that if he tarried much longer he would not reach his desired resting place, and Vashra flew with him to the PLane. Vashra stayed with Idracna to the end, and began burying him when his life finished. he had almost completed the work when he saw a cloaked figure approaching. He drew the knife h always carried, and warned the intruder to stay back. The stranger kept on coming, and Vashra leapt at him. he was easily knocked aside, and the person kept on walking. He selected a corpse, and began to chant an incantation to raise it. Horrified at this defilement of the dragon's body, even though he had never known it, Vashra retrieved his knife and went towards the stranger again.
"Do not defile that great dragon's corpse!" he demanded.
The stranger laughed. "And how will you stop me? I am a Vampire!" Seizing the corrupted wind of Dhar, he hurled a bolt at Vashra. He dodged, but more bolts came. "I can keep doing this, you know. Or you can just run away, little elf," he sneered.
Vashra exploded, and raced towards the Vampire. A haze of darkness entrapped him, and he fell, choking, to the ground.
After raising his dragon, Count Volos von Carstein waited with the dead elf. He knew that in time the magic of undeath would flow through his veins, and gave it a little encouragement, using the miasma of Dhar to attract and capture the magic of the dead, and then channel it into the elf's body.
After a while, Vashra woke up, and rubbed his eyes. he saw a hazy outline. "Is that...is that Asuryan's halls?" His vision cleared, and he realised he was still on the Plain of Bones. "But-I'm dead!" he protested.
"You were, but then I used the power of necromancy to restore you." explained the stranger. He offered his hand. "Take my hand." Vashra took it.
"I am Vashra of House Emeraldsea of Ulthuan, but why did you restore me to undeath?" asked Vashra.
"I saw you had a strong will, and other qualities my bloodline, or Vampire family, admire," explained the Vampire. "The proof is that your still whole and sane, even after being restored by necromancy, the most unstable and corrupting magic."
"I will not be a savage, insane creature of death," declared Vashra. "Be gone, Vampire!"
"Too late. Or would you rather be properly dead?"
"Actually, I wouldn't. Thank you."
"Good. Now, you seem incredibly desperate for these dragons to be safe," continued the Vampire.
"Yes, I do," replied Vashra.
"Do you have any special connections here? Why did you come to the dragon cemetery. Before I restored you, you could not resurrect the dead."
"I came with my dragon Idracnir, to care for him in his last moments."
"What happened?"
"The Druchii. And they took my sister,' explained Vashra.
"Well, I can't get you your sister back right now, but do you want your dragon back?" offered the Vampire.
Vashra considered it. He did not want to tear Idracnir from Kurnuous the hunter god's paradise, but he desperately wanted to have his friend back. He accepted, and Volos raised Idracnir.
After the incantation, Vashra asked, "The elves will not accept a creature of the dead. Where can I go?"
"Come with me. I will show you Sylvania, where the Vampires live in harmony with the humans. You can build your army and start your quest for revenge on the Druchii, which you will no doubt want," said the Vampire.
"Yes, I would." Vashra climbed onto Idracnir, stroking his freshly dead skin. "I promise I will restore as much of you as possible," he whispered. The Vampire then led Vashra and Idracnir to Sylvania.
How does that look? Feedback and criticism welcome.
