I think that effect looks cool, thanks for the tip! I did consider the Drakenhof Nightshade but as this is similar to how I paint my ghouls I was worried they would look too similar, but yours doesn't I don't think.

I use a Rakarth Flesh basecoat on the ghouls, so I guess the white basecoat lightens the shade a bit more. Will give it a go on my test ghosts and see how I manage to get on :)

On a more Grave Guard related note, I'm reasonably sure (maybe 85%!) that I'll get my unit finished by the end of the weekend as just the bases to go now. Then it's a question of assembling either my skeletons or my Mortis Engine... or having a break from the restless dead and tackling the Malifaux crew that is sat undercoated on my shelf!

The trick is to do a very heavy drybrush (more of a wetbrush really) of white over the top.

Really looming forward to seeing how they will look when based :-)

It's taken me quite a while but finally my Grave Guard are complete!! There's 36 of them (I thought I had 35 but apparently not...) which should be enough to provide some hitting power for Lady d'Winter's growing army.

Feedback and comments much appreciated as always

They just look amazing. Absolutely frigging amazing.

Makes me want to throw my army in the bin and re do it all :)

Awesome ;) Big units of GG always look good, but this is especially nice

And a comment about the ME - I like the spirit host color more, the green colour makes it more interesting and differentatied and somehow they look even colder than the ME.. maybe that's the base... ;) But it's also cool.

Sorry for the delay in replying, it's been a busy few weeks!

@Borgnine - I'm still torn on the ME colour... I haven't actually built it yet so a while to decide yet. Currently putting together some more zombies and some skeletons, but haven't had much time to work on them recently so no progress to show.

@Duke Danse Macabre - Glad you like the effect on the blades. I was only going to do this on the Grave Guard to represent the frozen touch of their blades which causes the Killing Blow. So I'll do it on any other Wights, but probably not any other models

Kutslo what brand or manufacturer are those wolves. I don't like GW and I am strugling to get nice ones. And yours fit the purpose.

Thanks for all the kind words!

@Duke Danse Macabre - The eyes are just Lothern Blue... I put the brush tip in the socket and move it around in a circle so that it colours the areas around the sockets as well... nothing very technical! Here's a close up of one (which also shows up how bad some of my bone highlights are!)

@buccaneer89 and Adam_Barrow - I much prefer the Fenrisian Wolves to the usual Dire Wolves... they are more expensive but I'm really not a fan of the Dire Wolf models so happy to pay extra in this case! Also the place I buy my models is 25% off which helps :)
