Kind of you to say.

I put her in a unit of Zeds today and she ranks up wonderfully, but I have to admit... she makes putting two units in combat impossible. Didn't fully think that one through...

That's the bit we tend to forget - we sort out getting it to stand on the correct base, and then ranking up in a unit, and then... but if you worried about that every unit would have weapons held upright and so on.

The basic problem is that GW are still using the same base sizes as in 1984, but their models are twice the size!

Great idea for a BSB though! Do you play against Dark Elves a lot or is that a purely aesthetic choice? And what is the base model you have used for Calliste, I thought I'd seen every female vampire candidate but I don't recall that one.

I've only faced Dark Elves a couple of times in my life, in fact - and only with their old book.

I bought a couple of witch Elves from a bitz site thinking I could turn them into wood Elf characters - then I realised I didn't want any strippers in my wood elf army...

As for the model (and I've just noticed, your avatar is the model I use for my General... I don't recal seeing her in your army journal.), it's a Reaper figure, Joeliyn, Sister of the Blade.

I chose her because I wanted someone... Careless. Heedless. She's walking, one's tempted to say striding across the battlefield. A Witch Elf berserker throws herself at the vampire and is slain and soul-sucked without even breaking stride, barely glancing at the elf.

Aha, thanks for the link, not a Vampire at all, which is why I didn't recognise her. I love the way you've adapted here here, it gives just the emotionless look you were aiming for.

That CMoN Vampire Countess is still the only Vampire in my army, it's a great mini and one of my best paint jobs and I've struggled to get started on the many other vampire ladies I've got - my Mad Puppet Vampiress has been back in paint stripper twice so far! Your paint scheme puts a completely different look to the same model though.

Interesting about the Dark Elves, I actually play against them a lot but I've never thought to use one in my own army that way!
