Hey one and all. Here is a link ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0i88t0Kacs ) to a cinematic for The Witcher 3, an upcoming RPG for the PC,XBone and PS4.

This is one of my favourite RPG series, my favourite series of books and I just wanted to spread the word and prove the Poland is still making great games xD

Ah yes, I saw this advertised elsewhere and did wonder whether I should give it a go. My reservation was that I have not played any of the previous, and normally that irks me, I like to play a series in full otherwise I feel like I am missing out....

If I recall your PC specs correctly (they were similar to my previous rig) that you posted earlier this year I think you could run the first and second game alright.

Both can be picked up fairly cheaply, especially with Steam Sales.

I look forward to this so much, looks really really well done! I still need to play the second one though I've pushed it forward for so long it's not even funny. I loved the first game back when it came out and head that they've done it so much better both second and the third time!

Can't wait!

I found the second to be a lot more enjoyable than the first. :D

GOG.com recently had a promotion where if you bought any one of their games on their sale, they throw in TW1 for free. Can't get any cheaper than free

That aside, I too liked TW2's more than TW1, though mostly for the gameplay mechanics. I feel so buzzed for TW3.

That's the reason I enjoyed the 2nd more mostly, although I thought the story was a bit better too but that might be just because I really liked the Kingslayer.

Great to hear, can't wait till I have enough time to really dig into it.. My life is crazy busy ATM.

So, sell the game to me then - I believe it is an RPG? What makes it so good?

You get to stab things, have lots of teh sexi time with hawt gurlz (as well as vampires, dryads etc), use basic magic, drink toxic potions and generally be awesome.

Hmmmm.....

Very tempted now.....the only question is if I have enough time. Getting too involved with a game would mean less time on CN.....

What I meant to say is the Witcher is a complete mess of a game, really you'd be better of not going near it. Infact don't google it at all!

Its a great trailer and I would watch a movie like that if i could but I'm still not too sure, I normally don't like the game play of allot of great looking games like this.
Same as i love Devil May Cry but i don't like the game play.

Also that force from the hand has me thinking Fable 1 with force push.
So much win right there!... Until you break the windows again by accident but excusing that all is good.

It's well worth it really. The second game is of course superior to the first and the third will just be /drool.

The only advise I really think you should get ( that does not spoil ) is that when you make decisions in that game, you got to remember most of them can change...well a lot. In the first hour you are already deciding things that change the mid-end game and bla bla xD It's neat!

You will miss out on things no matter what you do. Witcher does dare to close off certain paths for you should you decide to go with say group A instead of group B or kill Z instead of X etc, etc.

Another thing is that The Witcher handles grey fantasy better than some other series IMO. Dragon Age 2's story for instance struck me as trying but failing to be grey fantasy.

Which is where the replayability comes in! If you're interested enough you can get a lot of gametime out of seeing all the different choice outcomes.

Agreed. One of my favourite scenes from any RP game is the start of Witcher 2.

My only problem is that you are forced to play as the Witcher who is quite boring and I dislike his voice acting. That and I am spoiled with companions in bioware games <3

I certainly didnt find that of Geralt =/ (I can't recall his voice from the first witcher, was it better/worst/same?)
