Ok I've been playing Magic Heavy for a while now and in a stroke of incredible bad luck I've had three really bad games in a row where my magic has let me down at the crucial moments.

I've decided to hang up the Necronomicon and put on my Blood red Armour and try a Blood Dragon style list in my next game. I've never done this before so please give me some C&C.

I plan to run the Lord in the Blood Knights mostly but if I think I'm going to get diverted everywhere I'll drop him into another unit and let the boys rampage all over.

The Hunter vampire I run in every list as he is bad ass if used correctly, Warmachines and lurker Mages beware!

The Wight king will go with the GG and run as a self sufficient unit.

I know the Pros and cons of the Blood Knights but I just have to have them as they are awesome models.

Ditch the doomwolf and get a Ghast for the Ghouls. I would get rid of the Zombies and add more Ghouls. I would also ditch the BSB and get another lv2 caster with summon ghouls and lord o dead to support your troops.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, However I think the doomwolf would serve me better than a Ghast. The Doomwolf and his six buddies can tie up a Thirster/ Lord Dragon for a turn which is far more useful than an extra Ghoul attack.

As for the caster Vamp it kinda goes against the grain of this set up having played magic heavy since the new book was released I just dont think an Extra Lvl 2 will impact greatly enough to make a difference in todays anti magic climate.

I think your lord setup is not allowed, you cannot have enchanted shield and cadaverous cuirass on same character (2 magic armors).

Yeah lord is illegal atm, and personally I would go dreadlance. Kill them before they can swing at you ;) Also give your WK a barded mount, more save for BSB is a plus.

Dreadlance is good, but it's nothing that infinite hatred and the balefire spike can do. Save points and try to do that. I also noted, has he taken the dread knight power to get his mount or just bought his mount the other way? If it's the other way, I vote you buy Flayed Hauberk to replace Cadaverous Cuirass, if you bought dread knight, just pick one or the other. I vote Cadaverous personally. Use points left over to buy something useful which I don't know.

Ok I used this revised list the other day against an Orcs and Goblin List. It was totally an experimental list and I dont think I would take it again if I want to keep friends.

The "Death Star" Unit was deployed in the centre and took everything on the chin in the first turn. After the smoke had cleared I had only lost one Knight. The unit then took on and destroyed the Warbosses unit in turn 2 and then another large unit of Boyz in turn 3. it was only due to the wolves and some nifty zombie raising that I avoided been led a merry dance. I reckon it would have been a different story against a more mobile army. All in all fun as a one off but I doubt it would do very good in a tourney.
