Trying to get an idea

Okay, im trying to get an idea of what the new hexwraiths/blacknights look like on the older skeletal steeds that the tomb kings still use and what the older monted Vampires looked like. im talking with someone about trading some minis he reguarded the the mounted vampire in the old blood line style i have no clue what that means...can anyone help?

not Sure what you are after, but get the box, build hexwraiths, and put the bk and barding on those old horses.
I think there are some done this way in the 'show us your black knights' thread under unholy masterpiesces.

in the bloodline style vampires, 1-2 editions back I think the vamps had specifik horses, like the red duke I.e.
lahmia had a normal, barded horse
bloodknight/carstein some close to empire knight horse, with a dead head or such.
don't have any of those minis, but ill try check the books for tomorrow, if any1 hasn't answered that 'til then.

Strigoi don't have a mounted one.


Unfortunately I couldn't find the images Melle was talking about, I've seen them too and they look quite fitting and it was quite an easy swap to do. I would not reccomend the old black knights though. Here's a picture of them.

Easiest thing to do would be to just ask the person you are trading with to take a few pictures of what you are going to be recieving. It's not an unreasonable request and I'd be vary wary of buying something I haven't even seen a photo of.

lynks supplied all the models I was talking about.
agreed, stay clear of those black knights he linked, and even worse the edition be4 that, where they were normal skeletons with a breastplate glued on *shrug*

I've been searching CN for that new bk build on old horses and can't find it. but I know I've seen it, you could even assemble the BK, and thread the barding on the horse, and take it off again, if u please, for easy transport or whatever...was it a YouTube clip? I keep looking 'til I pass out,(wont
be long now...)

What I've done with the kit is assemble it as Black Knights, then mounted the Hexwraiths on skeletal steeds from the TK range. It takes a bit of green stuff to fill out the "saddle" area, but with minimal work they turn out great!
My LGC has a rather large used section for bits, models, etc... so the skeletal steeds came pretty cheap.
