Indeed, it was laughter that echoed from the barrel chest of the beast. Looking to the other company he now keeps, he marches, walks? Strides? Lopes? Alongside Peter without thought for how fast his mount could move. Without magical aid, he can keep pace without issue. It is to be noted that he keeps himself in an advantageous position to come between Peter and any would be attacker; namely, the only others of strength here. The other Vampires of course.

A not so subtle show of his distrust, indeed. Tact is sadly lost on this beast.

Jason grinned slightly at Nikalus’s almost pathetic attempt, to defend his master; fading when he thought what chance he would have, should this 'diplomacy' fail. If it did would the others survive “well I don’t plan on doing down as you so eloquently put it peter, without a fight” Jason said with a grim expression as he pulled the green stone book he had been examining at Darkenhof from his cloak resting it on his lap as they marched forward.

His eyes glared at the wards and glyphs etched in glowing metal on the cover he put his finger on one channeling the dark magic dispelling it burning away leaving only a black outline examining more closely somewhere changing with the disappearance of the other these were well done and he hoped its secrets would aid them in their diplomatic mission. Smiling faintly to himself as he dispelled another ward.

Suddenly the air in front of the vampires wavered, shimmering as if a fire was burning beneath it. From the haze a cowled figure stepped, a wraith that approached Simon and bowed low.

"My Lord," it spoke in tones as cold as the grave, "the Mistress requests that you return to Drakenhof with all haste. Banespike has been found bearing ill news. The Legions of Nagash are preparing to march. Your army must be made ready"

It's foul news delivered the creature faded away, not waiting for a response. Against such a message there could only be one course of action, and the wraith had more to warn.......

Fangs are bared, and legs bunch underneath the beast. His misshapen, scarred face stretches as his fangs are bared, still bloody and encrusted with gore from the fight.

Something comes!

The Wraith appears moments after, and Niklaus digs a furrow in the earth with his legs, near on all fours as he brings the full weight of his malice to bear on this entity before him. The message is short, to the point, and efficient; something that Niklaus can respect, if nothing else. He stands by peter, relaxing only slightly once the creature is gone, and merely looks up to Peter with glowing re eyes; A simple question is posed mentally.

We march?

Putting away his tome he looked towards Simon coldly

"Well so much for our diplomatic mission"

He dismounted and examined his the silver pocket watch, closing it and looking to the sky and the surrounding army.

"I shall meet you at the castle then" grinning as he spoke

"happy riding gentlemen"

His cloak fluttered with dark magic shimmering with energy, wings of black linen and souls of the dead extended as Jason leaped into the air and disappeared in a flash in the darkened sky above.

Simon grimaced "theres always something." he muttered." Turning to Peter he said "It would seem there has been a change of plans. Gather your troops and bring them to Drakenhof. We may be marching south soon." Peter nodded as Simon rode off followed by his relief troops."

Peter's army formed lines behind Simon's force and followed in the direction of Drakenhof. The new troops added to his ranks from the dead of the Empire army would no doubt come in handy. He tapped his spurs to Firehoof's side, and marched at the head of the army beside von Carstein. Niklaus loped beside him, eager to protect the Vampire knight.
