Hey all,

I started my vampires at long last. Here is a test vampire model. As vampires are the reason I started the army, it seemed only fitting that my test model be one of the models that I always loved (but one that I will never use, as he is on foot).

The color scheme of the vampires will be red, blue, and purple with gold accents. The idea I currently have is that for most models (core, black knights, hexwraiths, etc) purple and blue will be the primary colors, but for vampiric models, the colors will be switched (red dominant and blue/purple accents). Ideally, this will allow the entire army to look cohesive, but the vampires will stand out much more (as they should).

So without further adieu, I bring you a WIP vampire!

So left to do: leather, fur on cloak, wings, bones, and eyes.

About the model: Not sold on cloak yet. Any of you have better suggestions for color matches with red? I don't want green, but am open to other suggestions. As I said, the 2nd color on the vampire will be the primary color on just about everything else,

The red armor was an attempt at NMM, and I think for a first time it isn't bad. Picture quality doesn't do it justice. Any advice on taking pictures of minis?

Anyway, let me know what you think.

The armour looks good but I think you should deepen up the blue in the recesses of the cape so you can tone down that bright blue. You might want to put in a few more steps of shading before bringing it up to something so bright.
