2nd post down, also there's now official confirmation that the Sisters of Battle will be recieving a WD codex up-date, ala Blood Angels & Warriors of Chaos...

Now, I doubt this is a new book for us, more likely a new 'wave release' that can be tied into the summer's big storm of magic party.

A big shiny new monster, Gw must have noticed VC sales where down . I'm hoping we get more then just a Monster a new (decent) vampire model would be nice.

I'm sure Necron players are happy to wait the extra month to get a compeletly new codex . With Witch hunters and Necrons updated, Tau, eldar and chaos are the oldest (Ignoring various space moron chapters) which you seem you have 2 off

I doubt you'll be the only one im just curious to see what else they throw our way as more is rumoured, and the DE dragon looks like it could be quite easily converted to suit our zombie needs

Ha! I doubt VC sales are down - otherwise GW would simply up and abandon us to the nether reaches for 10+ years! (I blame Bishop cause all his other armies are old!)

More likely, VC's are still selling decently, and this is a bit of a peace offering for the hit our book took with 8th, plus how it's now blatently obvious how over-costed 99% of our units are, added to the fact it'll be at least another year and a bit before we see a proper update!
I know I sold an absolute shedload of VC stuff when I worked for GW - easily the most popular fantasy army in terms of pure sales at our store. (okay, so maybe we were all a bit biased since every single staff member had a VC army !)

From the massive lists of guesses, hunches, wishlisting and other random musings, I think we should look at the following as being the 'more likely' options;
- New 'Big-Shiny-Monster' kit. (confirmed via WD)
- New Necromancer (confirmed via WD snipits)
- Plastic Abyss(m)al Terror (highly hinted at by the Pie-Man, Hastings, Bram Gaunt et all)
- 'mystery' release. (cause there's always something no one sees coming and/or completely misses the obvious hint!)

I doubt we'll see any new vampire sculpts... We've got what, 5 or 6 that came with the 7th ed book? Sure most of them are god-awful, but GW will plug other gaping holes before going back over already existing stuffs. (though seeing some of the current models get moved over to Fine Cast is going to happen at some point...)

Overall, I think it's great GW is throwing us a bone! (even if it's still a highly over-costed pile of skellie bones!)

Some of the current Vampire models have already been changed to Finecast, as is shown here

I'm far more interested by new Necromancer model than any kind of new monster. For years, I used the old Marauder Miniatures Necromancer figure in my army, because successive newer Necromancer models were just so poor. The new one looks really impressive, and is made even more so in my eyes by the fact it's going to be made out of plastic (I hate resin), so I may find myself actually purchasing a character model for my army (which is soon to make a come back) for the first time in a while.

US WD 218 I only know because it's one of my favorite issues and I'm flipping through it a lot.

Well I will be happy with a decent Zombie dragon model, a necro kit like the empire wizard one and when it comes around to it some bloodline themed vamps.
Lets face it, the old models where as the rules where good looked bloody awful.
Hell maybe we will get lucky and get Sylvanian Troop Levies and even some bows, it follows the fluff after all and I get sick of used Brets. :frown:

I really think and kinda hope this is the case. Kinda hope because given the state of those new monsters from SoM and the longing for the ZD it could be veeeeeeeeeeeeeery dissapointing! Can you imagine if they released it and we all felt the need to just convert our own still, oh worry's me! :zombie:
