Love these rumours (well not Ghouls that can't flee obviously but that is old news by now)!

The new skeles look good, However vlad doesnt look like the vlad from the fluff and if that is isabella its damn awful. Isabella is supposed to be beautiful and that model looks like a crone. Its destroyed the idea of isabella being a hottie and then proceeded to dance on the ashes of that idea. I sure hope the other vampires look good but so far I have been sorely disappointed in the new vampires. Vlad doesnt look right, isabella is a ugly crone and mannfred has become a ugly old bald guy that looks more red duke then mannfred. GW is butchering everything we hope and dreamed for in new vampire models.

True I have to agree on that, If the paint job was darker I feel it could be better...Still cant get over that isabella though *shakes head*

At least the skeles and grave guard are looking great

hmmm, notice that they said the new skeles are some of the most 'intricate' models they've ever released... wonder if you will be able to stick each individual rib on? (really, i hope not o_o )

the corpse cart looks awsome though :)

I'm finding myself looking more forward to what is going to be in the new army book (ie. what units make it, how have they changed, stats etc.) than I am to these new models. Just not blown away by them at all. That Isabella model... ye gods.. good to see that my Lahmian models will still see use...

Just have to work on how to make the new skellies fit in with my current army.. I'll end up grabbing at least one unit of the new ones..

All I can say about the new skeletons is WOW! They look superb!

Vlad is "meh" (I'm not keen on the spirit/cloak sculpts) whereas I think Isabella is great. She looks like a right evil old hag! :)

The Corpse Cart is a bit of a disappointment though. :(

The Skeletons are great, thought the mucisian remainds me a bit of TK.
Vlad and Isabalela, not sure on those.
The Corps Crat is cinda cool.
I am looking forward to the rest of the new firgures.

Cheers

Lord Aldrek

That corpse cart is just so blanche-ish. I can understand why he named it the best model ever released by GW. I can't wait to paint that one.

I like Vlads pose. The crouching, blowing-at-his-hand is very nice. Sword's good too. And armour. Spirit-junk sucks as does paint job.

Skellies are great. From the look of it, they are everything the current ones are, but with more appropriate dimensions and more random bits and bops. And - not those butt ugly shields!

Female vampire... Looks more like a zombie / banshee to me.

Awesome.

I love VC magic, so I like the sound of an insane magic phase.

I love all the models. Vlad's spirit cloak is a bit average but otherwise it's a wonderful model. Isabella looks a bit like she would fit into the TK army if it had a different paint job. But I like that, that speaks of VC's origins. Skellies are awesome, still bigger than realistic, but thats the Warhammer scale. They are otherwise wonderful, varied and just plain cool. Corpse cart is amasing, I'm very pleased with it.

I like the idea of the vampire units, although I'm not sure they will find a place in my army, we'll have to see what the AB is like I guess.

Manfred for Emporor!

It's good to see those pics, I'm happy about that :) At least we know what's in GW store for us.

New skeletons are better than the current ones, though some of them resemble Khemrian style, maybe it's the colour palette that was used.
It's a good shambling undead horde look, put on those models.

But the new vampire models do not impress me much, and neither does the corpse cart.

The vampiress is not seductive at all, the model has poor paintjob, and the look on her face does not tell me she's a vampire (rather that she'd just eaten a limon). Only the teeth are vampire-like for me. I suppose the daggers (stilettos?) on the model are for second hand weapon? The sword is too big for a hand weapon and too small for a two-handed weapon. There's no sheath on the model.

But the Vlad model is even worse. It's Chaos theme. Too much armor, he looks too heavy, and his head/face is too small comparing to other parts of the model. Moreover, the face looks sad and weak while the old Vlad looked triumphant. I would even understand this strange ghastly robe, but this bear paw? What's it for on a Vampire Lord? Does a Vampire Lord look more frightening when he's wearing bear's paws, or does he need warm clothing? How does the bear fur connect to vampire fluff? If it's supposed to be a trophy, then I can say LOL, since Vampires may kill dragons or greater daemons for trophies, but definitely not bears...And, oh look at that elephant tusk, I bet Vlad's achievement was to kill an elephant (single-handedly )! LOL. I won't address the hair issue, I'm too disappointed to comment anymore on that model.

The corpse cart keeps undead style and is an interesting piece, emphasizing the shambling undead horde theme of the army, but I see one problem with this model - I could make it out of available bits myself, and I'm no sculptor. I mean, I expect more than a "bitz conversion'' because I'm supposed to pay for this with hard-earned $$$. I think this unit definitely deserved more attention and effort.

Let's wait and see the armybox contents, maybe we'll see some more previews in a few weeks and there will be more things worth buying.

It's not Isabella folks, it's a generic female vampire.

Love every model but the vampires, unfortunately. As they are our avatars on the field of battle, they are too much chaos for my taste. What's with these huge tusks, bear claws and spikes? Rise of the new chaos god, Carstein. Mark of Carstein, 25 points... I'm sure the kids will love it, so maybe a good business decision.

Anyway, should be easy to cut off the chaos stuff and keep the vampire a vampire. There's no helping Vlad out from his crouching position though, it does not pervey the required arrogance and haughtiness characteristic of the line, IMO (thanks for the help, Dr Death ;) ).

Oh, the Corpse Cart. Oh my God yes, I love that horrific and disturbing piece! Can't wait to have two of them trotting along my infantry to boost their ranks. Core choice, around 60 points, increasing the effect of Invocation and have a bound Invocation of it's own.

I'm trying to work out why a vampiress has to look seductive? I still think she looks cool in an evil witch queen kind of way.

I suppose the daggers (stilettos?) on the model are for second hand weapon?

Again, I quite liked the daggers.

The sword is too big for a hand weapon and too small for a two-handed weapon.

GW figures haven't had sensible sized weapons for years. It's obviously a single handed weapon if you look at the swords grip.

I'm definitely buying one of these hag like old bird vampires for my army. So :P to everybody else!

Well, you do know that our current Lahmia are known for their seductive powers? And people (including me) would very much like to have some viable seductive powers in the new book, as a nice change.

I'm not disputing that. However, I don't see why every female vampire has to be a stunner. I actually like the idea of scary female vampires. :)

Btw, interesting new rumours. Ward saving on crumbles sounds rather tasty!

I love the models, no complaints. The Chaosish look on Vlad is great; although I haven't read any fluff so I don't know if it's consistent with another author's perspective. I think the bear paw is actually his shield although I could be wrong. He looks fearsome, he looks like he could go toe to toe with heros on just sheer mass.

The female vampire looks great; I'm glad she's not seductive, showing a lot of skin and such. In fact, seductive powers don't make a lot of sense to me, unless they' come from a magical mind-altering effect. Think about it; it's the middle of a huge battle, there's shambling hordes of undead, and leading the undead is a hottie. I don't care what the size of her rack she is, the enemy should be either running away or doing their best to run her through, especially if its an enemy general. Plus the whole seduction theme only makes sense if it's another human; orcs, goblins, beastmen, TK, Chaos Dwarfs, Dwarfs, Lizardmen, Skaven, Ogres, HE, DE, WE, and at the demon component of Chaos army all have different versions of what's "Hot", (only one that might, might be different are elves) and I don't see them putting down their guard for some undead human woman. I realize it could be mental command, command over the dead, 100 other things, but 'hot' has no bearing on their powers, or shouldn't. If it's a main factor, it doesn't make any sense.

I have it in my mind... The Saurus Scar vet charges up on a Carnosaur ready to fight the undead horde... but look! She's hot! Whatever those things are on her torso, they're looking good. She must be confused, she's marching with all the undead! Let's spawn. Ouch! She hit me with a sword! Though a Master of dozens of battles, I didn't see that coming...

I dunno, it only works for me if it's humans. And I hate the stereotypical fantasy fighting female scantily clad with huge attributes. Hot lahmians can work in fluff, but I don't see them working at the head of an army. That doesn't seem like their style, and their looks should be the last the last thing an enemy hero would think of when you have hundreds of zombies marching against you.

Anyways, that's my lahmian rant, which is way off topic. All models are great, even the vampire female, except for the skeleton musician; how does he blow that thing without lungs? He should have drums or something. All I can say for it, is that it clearly marks the unit has a musician.

Ahh you just killed my dream that every female vampire is beautiful. :( :( :( *cries because he'll never have a 100% chance to meet a beautiful female vampire*

A bit more serious now though, that is going into the Forum Quote Generator (FQG)!

Am I the only one thinking Isabella looks 2 heads taller than her husband?

I don't like the front left and the back right skeleton head. I mean, it looks like a goof who had way too big eyes...

Rest looks promising.

skellies are great so are the shields, corpse cart very nice although wraith could get a different paint scheme, something a bit more black & grim reapery instead of jehovah witness at a funeral.

vampire's...vampire's.... vampire's.... hhhmmmmmmmm are........ alright. nothing special, especially with that paint scheme, my goodness how retro and cheery is vlad. That is a disgusting paint scheme, and should be done properly, it should be dark and gothic. If that female vampire is isabella i'm just doing to puke right now.

I mean the models have been done no justice, they are soooo disgustingly terrible looking (and i don't mean this in positive way, i mean disgusting as in a necrophiliac necromancer- yes not only is raising the dead, but is doing the horizontal monster mash with the maggot infested corpses aswell)

@Vlad: While I agree that the tusks and bear paw is somewhat out of place, I don't think that more armoue equals chaos as such. I like that vampires don't go to war in their dining dress anymore. As for the pose I do agree it does not express the usual haugtiness that is the trademark of the Carstein line; it's more shrewd, but I still like it.

I was just wondering why they release an 'old' Mannfred? When did a vampire age?

About the models: They are great, but why does Vlad have to look all ugly in the face? He looks... Nosferatu. Bat-like. Other than that, he has a really nice pose. But something's wrong with that cloak... It's all nice, straight lines, but then something appears to be potruding, like a branch or something, from it. Looks wrong. Looks like a sould escaping or something, but it sorta ruins the cape IMO. If/when I get the model, that will have to go.
Skellies are nice. Really nice. Great variety in them.
The female Vampire is great, but I really hope it isn't Isabella. Though, since she has a very ugly husband now, it would make sense that she's no looker either... It's a great pose, though, I think, that one leg appearing from her dress in a suggestive manner. The sword should be held in another way. Looks a bit daft, like it's in the way.
