Vampire counts vs Beastmen 3.5k

Hey all, today (25/02/2012) i played a 3.5k game vs beastmen heres the lists and how it went...

vampire lord, level 4
black-p, MotBA, 4++, heavy armour, shield, barded-n

master necro, level 4
corpse cart /w ULS

banshee

he had
-a doombull
-8 minos
-gorebull
-gorebull bsb

-a unit of centigors and ghorrus
-a beastlord on a chariot, (+1 to hit and -1 to hit him)
-a level 2 beasts caster
-a level 2 darkness caster
-a unit of 25 gors
-a unit of 25 gors
-two ghorgons
-a giant
*i may have missed some detail as i do not have his list*


results:
master necromancer: he did his job, he riased around 50-75 through the game he did quite well.

necormancers: they did there job to, in one turn managed to get off VDM and hellish-v onto a grave guard unit.. it then came into its own...

banshees: in one turn two of them killed off an entire unit of centigors bar the char and a single model

hexwriahts: nothing, well that's not strictly true, they killed a single Minotaur on the last turn and got killed

spirit hosts: my personal man of the match one unit got wiped in the 1st turn but.. the 2nd unit made there points back 3.5 times!, it got into combat with a giant and a ghorgon and in the 6 turn killed them both off with no casualties!

vampire lord: meh he did little but he tipped the balance of wining due to the fact he survived

mortis engine: throguh the game helped constantly and ended up killing 3 Minotaur (and suvived) through his Reliquery!

the grave guard unit with BoB: they did little, they got charged by a ghorgon and the beast lord, the beastlord survived the entire game with two wounds! and the unit killed on the ghorgon in one turn.

2nd grave guard unit: charged into the minotaurs and got buffed with reroll hits and wounds and dealt.... 17 wounds! (unsaved) :O

In the end i won by one-hundred and twenty-something so all in all a enjoyable and close game

do you think the MoTBA and peripat were worth it on the lord? there didnt seem to be much magical opposition to you tho

Tbh, yeah it helped quite a bit and overall i had 10-12 every magic phase (bar 1 where i rolled a 2-3 then re-rolled the two and got a 3-3) so it meant complete magic dominance and that helped allot.

To be brutally honest it isn't hard to have magic dominance against two BM level 2's, also you didn't win as you have not scored twice as many VP as your opponent so you drew, also the wargor din't die therefor neither did the chariot which is 145 in which case the BM player scored more points than you.

Hi I'm the other player of this game and he forgot to mention that the unit of 9 minotaures worth 570 survived because the champion "bloodkine" survived .

My list was as follows:

He also forgot to mention that he stood and shot me with his banshees when undead can only elect to hold. The game would of counted as a draw at any rate because u didnt wipe me out or win by double my victory points.

he is right on one part, i admit i stood and shot with the banshee but i only learn you could not about... 1-2 months ago. but we still disagree who won.

that isnt entirely true you told one of our friends yesterday that u will agree it was a draw as it was to long ago to say who won and u havent even posted what died of yours

The point is that you should have read your book properly and therefor whether you found out yesterday or 6 months ago is irrelevant the fact of the matter is that you cheated, so either the game is void (which you should both agree too) or you sort it out between yourselves about who won

Edit:

Sounds to me that the game is a "Draw" as it falls within the small points variation window for a game of such a large size. It happened 6 months ago! People make mistakes. Learn from those mistakes and move on.
