PS: I don't think Cows have an understanding of good and evil.

It doesn't matter if you understand the good or the evil. Suggesting so is foolish. If someone stabs you to death in your sleep, and you die before waking, then you never think (read: understand) that your killer is good or evil.

Not truly wanting to read through this entire thread, my opinions may have already been said. However, I will say them.

The basic drive behind vampires (and all humans, in my personal subjective opinion) is selfishness, as can be seen in their description in the army book. This automatically makes them basically evil. However, this basic nature can be worked against (but never quite removed). In essence, the great majority of vampires are distinctly and absolutely evil.

However, there are exceptions. There are vampires who strive against their selfish desires, and eventually become 'good'. However, there will always be that raw, selfish, brutish, wild, depraved and insipid evil within them.

And remember, the good ones are the exceptions. Around 95% of the time, if you see a vampire, he wants to bite your head off. :vampire3:

Evil is a subjective concept. To a human, Vampires may seem evil. To a cow, Humans must seem evil. Us Blood Dragons live by honor, and courage, many of us hailing from Bretonnia itself. To not fight the beast within is to become a Strigoi, as you can tell by our appearance, we have not yielded to the beast, the beast yields to us. If that's evil, then sure, we are Evil, by your subjective definition of it.

I absolutely agree to your statement.

This is another type of evil. Brets are misguided to say the least and blindly pursue a course of "noble" deeds. It is just a shame they see it fit to steamroll the rest of the Brettonian land. Peasants only live to feed the nobles, and they continue to do so once the knight become a vampire.

As we're speaking of subjective definition, I dont agree. I think we've got a pretty objective definiton. It is useful to apply the human definition since even though undead, a vampire was once human. But yeah, good and evil is subjective.

But like Voltaire and others now have stated, the so-called good vampire is the exception. For all the self-loathing, honor, virtues, good deeds a vampire perform it does not cancel out the dead corpses that can be found in its trail.

Only in theory I'd say. In practice it is bleeding them dry of their money/food so they can afford their extravagant lifestyle, ie living in luxury. Keeping a large part of their people in a constant state of misery and starvation isnt what I would call noble, honorble nor virtueous.

As most folk on here seem to be saying, a vamp aint nessesarilly an evil thing.

Like all things in the Gw universes there are very few clear cust baddies and goodies.

look at the "goodies" for example the main one being the Empire who stand for the progress of man and against the wicked things in the world. However, it has a history of infighting driven by selfish elector counts and greedy power brokers.

the brettonians live by a strict code of chiviarly to protect the week and uphold this code, however most knights veiw the conners with contempt and while in theory they protect thier commeners, the majority of the populus live in squalor while the land owners live in luxury.

Then there's the baddies, lets start with us. We are the lords of the night. Masters of the undead and we seek to dominate the world of man. However, Vladlooked afer the people of Slyvaina much better than the Von Draks. He sought to unite the Empire at a time when it was tearing itself apart. Some peasants still revere us, the Stringai (spelling) and the SLyvaians in particular.

then there Chaos Maurader, the terrors from the north. Despoilers of all that is good. However, they will trade with other human nations so they cant be that bad?

ANyways

thats just my input.

Its a food chain people!

Vampires are innocent!

Agreed, vampires are no more evil then the humans they once been. I mean, even if some vampires display sadistic tendencies, so does some humans. Also most evil vampires war already evil while being a mortal. But of course some just go crazy by having to live forever.

The next question is, Is humans pure evil?

In my opinion, yes they are. Lets think about it. Like vampires we have to eat other creatures, nothing evil with that, all crature need to kill to survive. (Yes cows kills, grass is alive :devil2: ) Most vampires kill to survive, and for personal gain. But humans kill their own kind, not only for personal gain, but often dare to make up the excuse that is was the will of their "God". Humans also corrupt the very planet and witch will ultimatly lead to the end of all live:(. Also humans inflict untold suffering, not only to their own kin, but to most other animals as well, some creature are only born to feed the uncaring industry of mankind. Many nations often inflict much unneccesery suffering on animals, justified by "God created mankind in his image". According to me the worst trait possessed by man is not the murder and the suffering brought to the world, but the way we justify it, own survival or personal gain should at least by acceptable, but the arrogance to think they are better then others, that suffering is the will of the Gods, thats unacceptable:frown:. Thats not even ignoring the fact of the spirits in the realm of chaos is directly fuelled by humans, so all evil chaos does is really the humans fault. Vampires do not have a presence there:D

So who is really the most evil?

But what do i know about mortals:vampire3:.

Did someone sayv chain conga line Dance Humans Dance!.

I sort of agree with your logic flaming hand yes humans are most deffinatly evil. althrough vampires were once human and now no longer fear death. They no longer fear the evil things in the world, they are one of the most powerful creatures in the world, and in there minds evil this is only a perception of course, something like beauty. After they are turned they only find new ways to increase there knowledge, or increase there standing untill they become empeor, they will live for ever so why not. while humans try frantically to enjoy themselves with food and drink and all the pleasurable company they can find. For vampires these things do not concern us power is all that concerns us and the continuation of more. This always welcomed other wise they would just sit around and drink blood all day and go crazy. Which none of the bloodlines do in my opinion not even the Strigoi, they simply enjoy the power they have and reval in the blood and killings and have some twisted form of fun.

I often have problems eating meat, as I am an animal lover. However, I also love a triple cheeseburger. Many people believe it is possible to survive without eating any meat at all (and many vegetarians/vegans do)
Vampires absolutely have no alternative to blood.
By that logic, I as a human being am far more evil than vampires inherently are.
Also, a vampire does not have to kill. He can just drain some of the blood, and the person does not neccesarily have to be any worse off than being a bit lightheaded for a while (in some popular fiction people volunteer to be bitten and get off on it)
For me to eat my burger, a cow has to die. Period. A cow with no choice and born into slavery. Even if we were to feed of the cow with it surviving, it would be pretty cruel to leave the cow alive missing part of its hindquarters.

FOR DAISY!
How exactly are we going to avenge the cows?
Wait....first we must liberate them......
Then, to truly avenge daisy, we must set up some kind of human abbatoir.....
