Vampires restarted

Well I did a bit more work on my Vampire today

Also started another grave guard today, I'm thinking this guy will make a cool unit champion

Excellent vampiress! That's a pretty good idea to have her right hand in that position, like she's playing with her hair. I can't wait 'til she's done!

Umm is that not a skin wolf you were showing off. Thought it was mine haven't came in yet. So I am not sure.

The wife loves were wolves so I am stuck with them but I don't mind the skin wolves look great.

Loving the update to your vampiress. she is looking great going to be a nice conversion peice.

@ Santa - Well when that one arrives I will be using it as a Varghulf, its the forgeworld open day one, I am thinking of getting the normal ones as a unit of crypt ghouls when I expand the list, still can't decide between the brides of dracula (Varghesists) or werewolves (crypt ghouls), ghrr, one of these days I'm also going to make myself a unit of Lahiman knights (blood knights).

Still playing about the list, do I take direwolves? do I take spirit hosts? do I need a lvl4? maybe I should use one of vampires as a count as manfred (hero version), do I go with the challenge monster hero? so hard to fit it all into 2k, its making me wonder if I should go with the necromancer lord which then means I will have to get a GW model if I want to take the army to throne of skulls, arg

@ Seneschal - Thanks, I'm very happy with how she is turning out, I have a feeling she might end up being my Vampire lord lol

Well another update for you, first up is the vampire with a little paint on her, I used a tamiya clear red wash on her and it killed some of the highlights, ghrr, I do love the tone it gives, ghrr

Bit of a update on a grave guard champion, need to find my drill piece no :-/

the greaveguard champion looks great. great green stuff job too.

his head looks so natural there it just yes is amazing. almost orgasmic.

I need to make some chaos grave guard now.

haha, something like that, I might go back in and add some more highlights in and see how it looks

Cheers, well I just have to neaten up the joint from the spear arm and the hammer shafts and then put some holes in his armour, I was told he needed to look more dead, I think once the rest of my skeletons turn up I will have a few coming out of the ground so i can steal the legs and have a few of the guys with skeleton feet, etc.

Hmm, when I finish the vampire I am going to see if they put her on the GW website, they might not notice the AoW bits

Well If I remember the conversion rule it's 60 percent must be gw.

@ Santa - I'm sure its higher than that, bleh, I've seen models on the live feed with less than that Anyways thanks mate, I have to say I am really enjoying making them, I would like to have the unit done in a month, just depends if I can get all the bitz I need.

I like that deep red look it's better then the bright red. Gives her a slight royal look.

the percentage might be higher but that is what sticks in my mind back from a few years ago. But maybe that is just for using it in the games.

I second the comment on the skinwolf; it looks awesome. Do you plan on bloody-ing it up at all or going for darker tones? I almost want to get a set myself....

Thanks Jake I'm going dark tones and gore, you can't have a werewolf without some gore! I would certainly suggest getting yourself some, i want to get a couple of packs of the normal ones (maybe next month!), I think they are actually the best werewolf models about, I think the proportions are a bit better than the rackham ones, I think the only bit that could be improved is the lack of hair

Cheers! I was tempted to use them as varghesists as well (well the ones on the site and have this more of a alpha wolf/varghulf) but I think crypt ghouls have the rules that better represent them, I actually Varghesists should be more like a unit of flying vampires, perhaps newrly turned with the frenzy representing how they can't control their hunger as well. I was thinking van helsing style and make the base scenic.
