I'm looking for some quick thoughts and suggestions, thanks for reading. My biggest question is about Beastslayer in challenges. What it does is it doubles your unsaved wounds for CR purposes, not including wounds from Overkill. Now if it doesn't work in challenges it would specify that like the other slayerskills. So does it mean that it still doubles wounds (for CR) up to the opponent's max wound stat? Overkill still stays Max 5.

And some thoughts on combining that skill with Vampireslayer, t>5=unsaved wounds are d6ed. :D

Man, you could atleast have said where those rules are from, it took some time to track 'em down, but I knew I had heard about them before. For reference for others it is from the Slayer Army rules in the Storm of Chaos book.

After looking at the rules it is pretty clear to me.

Beastslayer lets you count each wound twice for the purpose of combat resolution, unless they are overkill wounds. So for example, it the dwarf causes four unsaved wound upon a Orc Warboss (three wounds) in challenge you would get +7 in CR (2*3 for the wounds on the profile + 1 for overkill).

If combined with Vampierslayer each unsaved wound (against T5 or greater) would be multiplied by a D6. So, let look at it in the example with the Orc Warboss, with four unsaved wounds again. Each wound removes a D6 wound from his profile, so we roll 4D6, the results are a total of 14 wounds. Three are needed to kill him, five goes to overkill, the rest are lost. For CR you get 3*2+5=11 wounds caused.

Sorry about that. Thanks for the help. Now what if the slayer isn't roped into a challenge? Does Overkill hamper possible CR? I'm not looking for wounds but a CR bomb. :)

I don't understand, there is no such thing as overkill outside of challenge.

I believe he was saying does overkill in challenges hamper this ability; is it even more powerful against RnF troops. And I would say yes, but also when causing D6 wounds against models with one wound, the rest would be discarded, and I don't believe they would count towards CR anyway.
