Hellish Vigour is MUCH MUCH more powerful than Van Hels to a Vampire Lord with QB/RF/Ogre Blade whereby he's rerolling to hit against anything non ASF and I7 or lower anyway.

You can blend Steam Tanks and Black Dragons in 1 round of CC :)

So yeah, I don;t mind the extra cost to cast... it's worth it!

It does seem a bit odd considering they roughly do the same thing but vanhels lets you move as well.

They sort of do the same thing. I feel as though Van Hels should be cheaper than HV simply because rerolling to hit is a lot more common in the game than rerolling to wound. I mean you have ASF vs Lower Initiative, Hatred, Magic weapons, other spells. Where there aren't special rules out there that cover rerolling to wound. Also Wounding is a lot more fickle than hitting. I mean, to hit rolls vary from 3-5 naturally (No Magical anything) where as wounding ranges from 2-6. So wounding is also harder in some cases than hitting. A zombie against a crypt horror for example. The zombie will need 5's to hit and 6's to wound. If you has a choice, which would you rather reroll?

The fact that HV on a 40 strong GG horde is really tasty, as they already hit rather well with BotB.

When I think about it, if i get both VH and HV and would like IoN instead I always swap HV.. Rerolling to hit with my ghouls and CH's is so epic.. plus the movement part opens up new uses for the spell, it being cheap to cast is a huge plus too.. That being said I somehow still think both spells are priced correctly..

With HV, you get to reroll stomp wounds too!! Awwww yeah

Ohh crap talking about missing the obvious.

I have to remember that the next time my TG makes a run for a bunker unit.

You actually use your TG in combat? Your a braver man then me... :-P

Using it in combat is not a big deal.

Its WHAT you use it against in combat that is a big deal.

True dat, You can beat out small units of weak things (an annoying chaff unit or war machines) but don't take it into a big unit. That was my first mistake in my first game with VC ever. I charged my TG into a unit of Darkelf Spearmen. Lets just say that it didn't work out to well, but live and learn right!

Yeah I bet! TG's kinda suck in combat, thats why I never understood their upgrades. I mean, they don't really seem to help out too much seeing as how they always lose!

Lol, but is it worth spending the points and power dice to give them the buffs? If one gets charged then I usually just let it die.

Thats why you always take a spare. lol
