Hi All

I am thinking about taking on converting a Ogre Kingdoms Gorger into a Vargulf. As the locals would say, he looks feral as, which fits the fluff, and it would be a totally different look from the norm... Norm!

I was not sure about stapling wings onto the back or going for the underarm wingsuit look. I was going to look at that once I had a better look at the model.

This will be a bigger job than anything I've tried to tackle before. Does anybody have any tips besides "are you insane?"

I suppose a major concern will be fabricating underarm wings if I go that route.

Thanks everyone!

could be cool. As for underarm wings, I would try to mold some green stuff into the shape of fell bat wings and then attach it under his arms while it's still maleable and then shape it to him. Not sure what the unassembled components of a gorger look like, but maybe you could stick a fell bat head on there too in place of the ogre head.

don't know if he even NEEDS the wings, imo, since he doesn't have the flying rule. I'd have him have bits of arrows and bolts and swords sticking out of him, and maybe have him clutch the torso of a soldier in one hand and the legs of the same solder in the other.

I've seen a very nice Vargulf made from a Lotr Balrog, with two dragon wings as arms. Was ace

The Gorger has a single pose, where one arm is down, while the other is up in the air. Making it into a Gulfy will be hard enough, I don't think the wings are a great idea either. make it look as if it has a pile of corpses and all is well :)

ancalagon: Good point on the no flying zone. I don't know if I'll go for a whole torso, the old zombie banner has a perfectly good half torso with entrails available.

Crimson: that Vargulf is a thing of ugly (beauty?). The spine spines look really good. I'll staple on some ears and putty in a long slice up the ribcage.

My Fluffy Overlord: My local GW doesn't allow you to mix LoTR and other GW models on the table, something to do with licencing. Bloody hobbits (now there's a BB team name! http://www.partiallyclips.com/index.php?id=1565) The base model from Crimson's link looks like a LoTR Cave Troll.

No guts, no glory (is that why skellies crumble?). I think I'll just try to make the gorger look a little feral, and see what the green stuff wants to do. I'll smooth some random areas for bare skin instead of furring the whole thing.

Thanks for the ideas
