1 block of 22 Zombies
1 block 10 x Hexwraiths
1 6 pack of Vargheists

Deployment from my POV from left to right
WE
2 blocks of archers on hill, 1 block of archers formed up in 2 ranks, Tree kin, Ancient Treeman (General), Tree kin, Dryads (Branchwraith in this unit), the two treemen in front of the Dryads, Archers
VC
Skellies w/vamp, Skellies w/vamp, Skellies w/fire vamp, Varghiests, Hexwraiths, Zombies, Wolves on hill, 2 Varghulfs, Vamp Lord and TG behind hill.
Turn 1: HE goes first
Movement: He moved his tree kin up along the impassable terrain.
Magic: Nothing happened
Shooting: Archers on hill devastate 3 skellies from the block to the far left. Archers next to hill crush another 2 skellies. Archers on far right knock a wound off the Varghulf.
CC: none
Turn 1: VC
Movement: Move Hexwraiths through impassible terrain to the right, they are now looking at the treekin. Moved the Varghiest up next to the impassible terrain. Shuffled the blocks of skellies up. shuffled zombies up. Varghulgs move forward towards archers. TG flies up next to woods pointed towards Treeman, but out of the front arc of treemen or dryads. Vamp Lord lands next to TG out of charge arc of treemen, but not dryads.
Shooting: TG sings a sad song for right most treeman. I roll an 11 for a total of 17, vs his LD of not 11. Treeman dead.
Magic: Bring back the massive loss of skellies from WE shooting phase. Restore the lost wound to Varg. Treat the left tree kin to a viewing of FIRESTORM! (staring Howie Long), that producing a grand total of 4 wounds.
CC: nothing
Turn 2: WE
Movement: Charges Hexwraiths with tree man (I find out later that tree men have magic attacks
) Despite my warning, charges Vamp lord with Dryads. Moves left tree kin to set up charge on skellies with fire vamp and banner of hellfire. Left treekin reform to face to the right, towards the TG and Vamp Lord. Moves A Treeman backwards to try and keep me from flying the varghiests behind his lines.
Shooting: Archers on left shoot skellies, kill 10ish. Archers on right take two wounds off the varghulf, so he's down to 2 wounds.
Magic: Nothing
CC: Treeman SMASH Hexwraiths. I now know that treemen have magic attacks. Long story short, one lone hellwraith vs the treeman for the next round. Dryads learned that charging the vampire was a bad idea. After vampire finishes his attacks there is on dryad, and only one wound left on the branchwraith. They fluff their attacks. AT kills last dryad with his normal attacks. Rolls 6 for thunderstomp, and there's nothing left but mulch.
Turn 2: VC
Movement: No charges. TG flies behind A Treeman, VL flies next to him, threatening the tree kin with a flank charge for the next round. Vaghiests bunny hop behind the archers next to the A treeman, ready to charge next turn. Wolves move off the hill to support Varghulfs in counter charge of tree kin. Skellies and Zombies shuffle forwards.
Shooting: the TG serenades the A Treeman with "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." Which is ironic because the Tremman vowed that his spirit would drag the soul of whoever sang that song first, to the gates of Morr, and the TG rolled a 12.
Magic: Nothing special. Brought some skellies back on the table, shot some fire at the tree kin on the left, which did nothing.
CC: Treeman SMASH Hexwraith! No more hexwraiths.
Turn 3: WE
Movement: Left tree kin charge skellies w/banner of hellfire. Treeman charges 22 zombies. Right tree kin charge Varghulf, but have to be in contact with both. Right archers reform and are now in the same 2x10 formation but facing the left side of the table. The archers near the hill turn around to face the varghiests.
Magic: Nothing
Shooting: Takes a big chunk out of the middle block of skellies with the archers on the hill. The block on the ground near the hill kill 2 varghiests.
CC: Treeman SMASH Zombies! After CR if figured out there's 5 zombies left. The tree kin crush the varghulfs. Rightfully so, the varghulfs only landed two hits after hatred re-rolls (black coach might make a return :grave
. Tree kin on the left do some heavy damage to the skellies, but the skellies are able to take one more down. Tree kin block is down to 4.
Turn 3: VC
Movement: Charge the archers on the ground near the hill with varghiests in the front, and skellies in the rear. Turn wolves around so that they now face the archers on the right side of the table but out of the charge arc of the tree kin. Fly TG behind treekin on right. Fly lord to threaten tree kins' flank. Shuffle skellies on left towards the hill.
Magic: Healed up some skellies and the varghiests using the 18" super version of IoN. This was from the vamp that charged the archers, and it reached the poor skellies getting crushed by tree kin.
Shooting: TG sang a moving rendition of Justin Bieber's "Baby." Sap poured out of the tree kins' ears as they took 8 wounds, killing nearly half the unit.
CC: Treeman SMASH zombies. Killed 4 zombies from his 5 attacks. 1 zombie left hit and wounded, tree man missed his armor save... but got his ward. Then the zombie took 6 wounds from thunderstomp. Archers on the right side near the hill first attacked by the vampire, he kills 2. Then the archers have higher initiative than the varghiests, so all 18 attacks towards the big baddies. Only 2 varghiests remain :grave:. End up winning combat and the archers flee but no one catches them. Tree kin and skellies slug it out, one more tree kin comes off the table but they still win CC and a handful of skellies crumble.
Turn 4: WE
Movement: No charges. Archers rally and turn towards the chasing varghiest/skellies. Treeman moves right across table behind wolves. Right tree kin turn towards wolves
Shooting: Archers on hill take another chunk out of the skellies on the far left. Tree man uses woodland powers to shoot roots at wolves killing a handful.
CC: Vampire is able to take on more tree kin out but the tree kin smash up the skellies, the grind continues.
Turn 4: VC
Movement: Wolves charge 20 archers in the flank on right side of table. Skellies charge archers on top of hill. Varghiests and skellies charge the now rallied archers. TG flies behind tree man, VL flies behind right side archers.
Magic: Bring back some skellies and a varghiest.
Shooting: TG tells the tree man what's in Marsellus Wallace's brief case. The awesomeness is too much and the tree man crumbles to wood chips.
CC: Vampire does lands 2 wounds which becomes four Tree kin whiff their hits, Skellies whiff, but win CC. Treekin are chased down and burned. Wolves do 2 wounds, archers do 0. Archers bug out, but are chased down and eaten. Varghiests and skellies dish out the hurt, there were no archers to chase down. Skellies on the hill get shot to bits on the stand and shoot but manage to keep a 11 skellies together to reach combat. Archers whiff all their attacks. Vampire does 3 wounds, skellies do a massive 5 wounds. Archers run off the board. The other block of archers on the hill also take off an run off the board.
Turn 5: WE
With only a block of tree kin standing we call it.
Didn't count up the victory points at the time, but I lost roughly 500 pts, and he had roughly 300 pts on the board, I took 3 standards and killed his general. So somewhere around 2400 points to me...
MVP: TG for his sick damage out put and earning back nearly 4 times his points.
Needs improvement:
-Hexwraiths, I now know that tree men and tree kin have magic attacks.
-Varghulfs, not sure if I did anything "wrong" with them this time, just didn't really use them right.
