Well, I got started in Age of Sigmar this weekend with the Malignant Box.
As of now, my undead army consists of:

1 Coven Throne
3 Spirit Hosts
5 Hex Wraiths. I plan to show the progress in a paint log (that'll motivate me to paint...)

So here's my first fully painted model:

It was important for me to start with the spirit host, because I wanted to have some training in painting a good ethereal scheme.

Comments and advice are welcome :)

I think it looks good overall, a very cold ghostly feel! Quite a bit of depth in the shading too and you have painted them very neatly!

The bone is so neatly painted in fact I know you could take your painting to yet another level with just a little more edge highlighting. I think the candles are looking a bit much like the bone however, maybe some glazing could help distinguish the two imo. Base is really looking great overall. I never seem to have energy to get rid of them myself either, but the mold line on the stone bugs me a little !

Now that you mention it, I see it. How did I miss that mouldline? :| Too late for this one, but I need to check my other minis for those.

Some extra update.
My first Hexwraith (still WIP).
I notive that a big grain of sand/stone from the base somehow found its' way on the back of the horse (it's still visible on the picture), but I've removed it since then and I still have to paint the area.
But this pic should give a general idea of what this is becoming.
For the color schemes, I based myself on a local legend from my hometown about a traveling monk who was cursed because of his evil deeds and who came back as a fiery skeletal ghost. This gave me the idea of turning my Hexwraiths in exactly this kind of spirit, hence the brown robes. and the reddish fire scheme.
The purple for the cloth on the horse was used to tie it in with the rest of my army.

These are looking great! I love the cool, ghostly scheme you've used on the Spirit Host, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how your Hexwraith turns out. It looks different from many others, which makes it extra interesting! Looking forward to further updates.

Good to see your pictures back :) And glad to see another plog starting here. Those spirit hosts were a good choice to start and set the tone for the rest - although I think a little bit of edge highlighting could really improve them. Still, good job and the basing is really solid.

And the hexwraith? I love that you incorporated your local story into this  Shade of the robe could be a little more different from the bones, but that works good to. On such a light robe it would be even easier to make some orange glaze around the flames, to show that they're cast light on him. Still, that's optional and up to you :) I look forward to more progress here :)

I haven't been able to paint much the past few weeks, but here's some small update. I'm trying (and rather failing) to find the desired bone effect on my Coven Throne:

I think that it's looking promising :). What is it that you do not like?

Also, the ethereal approach with the Coven Throne is something I'm looking to get into for Age of Sigmar, so this initial force appeals to me.

as a matter of fact, I think it looks better on picture than when I look at it directly :)
it's a bit too white to my liking.
But that's typically me. Every time I pent, I spend my time thinking I'm ruining it and then I end up quite happy with the final result.

That's better than me, as I do ruin a model every time I attempt to paint it, hence why I gave up painting years ago :D! It's looking really good to me. The bone looks like bone and isn't too white at all. I'd recommend leaving it that shade.

Looks alright to me - dry and bony. And it's too white? I thought it could use some highlights, maybe that's the photo or different computer screens ;) I am working on this model too and it's way too imposing and complicated... Still, don't give up and show us the finished awesomeness later :)
