Vlad model painting

I am plannig to use the Vlad von Carstein model as my count and am wondering if there is any advice on how to paint it.

My ideas are to paint the hair black and eyes red with the armor ethier red with black on the bat parts or black armor with red bat parts.

I'd go with red armour, building up from scab to blood red, and maybe a few ink washes. If you were using KotBK, this would give off the feel of unification, and generally look bitchin' As for the hair, I'd recomend white, as it stands out much better against black/red coloured armour. I'd have to say purple is a great colour to make any model look more "epic", on cloaks, sword scabbards, underlying fabrics... its all good.
My Vlad is gonna have pale skin, not white, but bleachy, to contrast the dark armour.

In the end its all up to you though.

If you're painting the armour red, try using glazes instead of actual paint, It looks more smoothly blended, but takes ages(I'm exexting my vamp lord to take almost a month doing that)

It would be nice to see some black armour as im a big fan of it. It's a bit tricky to get it looking nice instead of either flat black or too grey but if you get the technique right, it'll look great.

A bit off topic but im new here and i started vampire army fo first time.I bought Vlad mini and some other boxes too.I have bit trouble with painting cloak and flesh.I kinda want GW face look.Im kinda trying with such mix ,base tanned flesh,then water down with liche purple,then tallaran flesh ,highlight with mix of lich purple+dwarf +elf flesh,then dwarf+elf flesh and in the end only elf highlight.
Could some1 give any other good idea.
