Warhammer to Kings of War

I'm having trouble deciding what to use all my models as in kings of war so I thought we could start a conversion system. I'll start with the obvious one and update this original post as people post suggestions:

It's really important to separate rules from models, and look at how a unit is supposed to work and what it's battlefield role is, and then look for a unit in Kings of War that matches that. For instance, I'm using Hexwraith models as Wraith infantry. Because the Wraith infantry have the 'fly' rule making them faster than cavalry, and the unit footprint is very close to the Hexwraith unit size. I use the Mortis Engine as a Revenant King on Undead Wyrm with wings because it flies (ethereal movement) and inspires nearby undead and is pretty good in close combat.

About the only unit that doesn't have an analogue is the Kings of War Soul Reaver infantry. We never had Vampire Infantry in Warhammer.

My suggestion would be to build the army you want, and *then* try to decide what you should proxy for various units.

The funny thing is, is I do it the opposite way. I find a model that I think will 'look' like how the unit is supposed to look and I plug it in that way.
