MON was better how it used to be. Cause fear and +1 wound for characters.

If they bring back old MOT and MOK though I am selling Vampires and playing Cheese Warriors

I know its in the artwork of the Beastmen book but I can definitely see the mammoth becoming a rare choice for the next WoC list. It fits their theme more than it does the beasties to be honest and the horned ones already have their (albeit poorly created) monsters.

Now to scare a number of players...does anyone think GW will require marauders to be fielded on smaller bases in the same manner ungors currently are?

No...I don't think the Marauders will get new plastics and GW almost never changes base size on troops.

well what do you want. Warriors of chaos is, and will always be, one of the eyecatchers/fancy armys for GW to show to people who dont play warhammer to look cool and get them sucked into the game.
And as a matter of fact, i actually like them as well. in every old world with elves dwarves undead and humans. there must be some heavily armored bad guys...

I guess the best thing to do is just waiting for the book to come, and when its out buy models before the price increases if you want to play the army...

I've been playing Warriors since ~'97 and they aren't the top of the heap as far as armies go. They are decent, yes. And not all winning WoC armies use Chosen-stars or knight-buses. There are some very good players who use MMU or a combination of MMU/MSU and pull out a lot of wins. Over on CotEC, a member called Hinge has a great tactics thread here. His largest units are 2 marauder units that are in the model count of the low to mid 20s.

It was plastic dragon ogres, plastic chaos trolls, plastic warshrine and new chaos dragon, plus one new unknown unit in the leaked info about woc 4 or 5 months ago. I wouldn't be surprised to see new plastic heroes for khorne and slaanesh either (undivided and tz had new plastic sorcerors, and nurgle got a new plastic hero recently) I hope warriors keep ws 5, they have been high ws since time immemorial, and if they drop to ws 4, that puts them level with gors.... That's just wrong.

I hope for a ward/Jervis/Kelly book for woc, I wouldn't even wish cruddace on high elves....

I don't believe Jervis writes books anymore. And I can't see them NOT doing a plastic Chariot! I don't think the old one has even been done in Finecast which should be a clue.

Personally I would say that if it not yet in fine cast you stand a better chance of it being done in plastic.
Word is that it is part of the war alter multi kit anyway.

I just these giant super human super heavy armored guys stop being some of the fastest guying in the game.
It makes no god damn sense!

Chaos warriors are one of the fastest units in the game??? o.o M4 isn't fast - that's why it's so easy to avoid the "chosen-star".

Initiative isn't just actual speed, otherwise movement would be proportional with it. It's also partly of fighting experience/knowledge, which Warriors have in abundance. That's why the higher WS guys in an army will have better I

I understand that but still allot of it is speed itself rather than experience, for a contrast look at high elf spear men, much higher initiative without ASF but lower WS.
Heavy huge clunky plate armour can make you a little sluggish so Initiative 4 if plenty, 5 makes them godly fast for what they are.
Now think back to all the warhammer video trailers as well you have seen warriors in, you have never seen them run and they are always cumbersome but they are gods in Close Combat, WS is a great way to represent that, they do not need extra high initiative.

That video is a prime example but really it is down to common sense, foot knights of the medieval age were great warriors and deadly skilled but were cumbersome and slower than their unarmored counterparts.

They are also inhumanly strong, so I doubt the heavy armour is as much of a deal for them.

And also a good reason for having the high I is that they don't hesitate. There is no thinking time, no need to take everything in or worry about their foes.

I'm not saying that having I4 would be wrong or stupid, but I think they have perfectly good justification for making them I5.

At the end of the day, you can't really say they're stats are wrong, because they are defined by their stats. Whatever their stats say, that's how they are! In a way, I5 can be defined as 'The speed at which a chaos warrior strikes in combat'. You might (rightly) say that dark elves are faster in the fluff and so should have higher I than a chaos warrior, but we know because of the stats that they would have struck pretty much simultaneously in combat. Be it because of strength, intelligence, skill or fear that's the way it is

They are but that does not mean the armour is weightless and full plate will still restrict movement.
Trained warriors do not hesitate, that is not a good enough reason for that kind of speed, their foes don't generally give quarter when fighting for their lives unless struck dumb with fear.

They are on par with characters with better saves with just 1 wound for less than half their cost.....
That to me is overkill.
Any Elf in my book is faster than a Man be her chaos warrior or otherwise.
