I know this band tends to polarize a lot of people, but I've only recently stumbled across them and it connected with me. I've never had a problem though with melody featuring in heavy music nor cared about the way that a band looks. It's purely about the music, if you don't like it that is totally cool as no one is forcing you to listen to it.
