I saw a thread like this a while ago, but it stopped, and I thought it would be a good idea to bring it back
An integral part to every forum, a user's avatar is his/her face on the forum. It gives a first impression to newbies, and a keystone in the memory of another user with whom you've conversed before. For example, I will never be able to think of Grish without thinking of the spooky, brownish picture of a cloudy moon, or Disciple of Nagash without the creepy vampire staring into my soul...

But I've rambled enough. What is your avatar? Why did you chose it? What significance does it have for you?

My current avatar is that of a specific panel from a certain webcomic (looking for group). It's the eye of a sadistic warlock performing an incredibly dangerous spell, and if you can't read the text he's saying... trust me on this... "Pony".
It is an emblem for me, showing that I am determined to stick with this webcomic until it regains its former glory, or loses all grasp on sense.

My avatar is simply the coolest looking picture of a vampire that I could find. Had there been a good enough fanart drawing or something of a Strigoi, then I TOTALLY would've taken it instead. It just embodies what I think of when I think "vampire"... pale, deadly, and ALWAYS present (if only lurking in the shadows).

Did I mention I thought it looked cool? ;)

For a pretty long time now I've been using various pictures of a video game character as my avatar. If you've looked at the other related threads you can probably guess it - yeah, she's from the Touhou series. :clown:

Headshot of a zombie drawn by comic book artist Tony Moore. Probably most famous lately for being the artist who, with writer Robert Kirkman, created The Walking Dead comics series, now a television show. Really great artist who lives in the Southern United States, enjoys whiskey and firearms, and good outlaw country music. My kinda guy. www.tonymooreillustration.com

Mine is from one of the Anime's I enjoy watching.
The Vampire Hunter D.
I have a graphic Sig for other forums which reads "The Vampire Hunter Duke" as I am the Duke and I intend the D to stand for that as he was a high born half breed Vampire so is of the loyal line as such and he gives the image of grandeur and class whilst being a powerful warrior well versed in the arts of combat and Badassery.

My avatar is the picture on the Yu-Gi-Oh card "Vampire Lord." I think I chose him because of the quiet self-assurance he seems to project. There's something about that knowing grin on his face that I feel depicts my inner self. He's devious, confident, and comes from my favorite card game!

@Harland

I recognized your LFG avatar when I first saw it. I too am determined to stick to LFG until the end. Hopefully it'll get a grasp on some actual story soon...

I´ve had an avatar of a smiley with three eyes for a while. It was used in men in black (which was an awesome movie) and also one of my favorite oldskool hip-hop groups (Hieroglyphics).
But it was a little to white and bright for my liking.
So now I have a cucco xD
Shows my love for Zelda, while throwing in a little humour.

@ Harland & Bravo 10, same here still waiting for the comic getting back on tracks.

I thought the 3 Eyed smiley was from evolution

Mine is a Blood Dragon from the 5th ed Vampire Counts Armybook. I really like the artwork of that book :)

It's Captain Spaulding from The Devil's Rejects(also the name of the movie, he also was in the movie before it called House of 1000 corpses).

Love that group.

Mine used to be a picture of Lord Kitchener, and was Rowan Atkinson doing the Invisible Piano sketch before that, and was that for quite a long time.

Now it's Doctor Who wearing a Fez. :clown:

Mine is the dragon priest from skyrim. Nothing says necromancer than a super mage who looks like a husk. Then again it does also look like a liche priest.

My avatar is the grimdark version of Jade from Homestuck. She's just so deliciously adorably eeeeeeeeeevil!

Mine used to be a blue glowing symbol.

However upon the release of the very first Invocation, me and my family noticed that the vampire on the front cover (drawn by Zephyr) bore a disturbing resemblance to me (albeit in my slimmer days - I will get back there!!). My little girl who was 2 at the time was looking at it and asking why Daddy was on the computer.

Even more weird was that Zephyr had not seen me to draw the picture.

So not long after I decided to adopt it as my avatar (with Zephyr's permission), so I choose my avatar because it is a vampire that looks like me xd

And for those who demand proof:

My Avatar is pretty simple.

It's the picture I chose. Oh, wait. You guys want more than that.

He's a roleplay character I used to run back in Chat, Free-form style roleplay at 'The Keep' and 'Realms' (Both chat style, I was Admin of the latter). Basically, a Demon with a penchant for summoning other demons, a total jerk, and didn't mind killing other people without permission from their players. Cuz that's wimpy to ask them. I also maimed, pillaged, and *ahem* deflowered many other players under that name. Brokash it was.

Good times. So I figured he'd make a good enough vampire.

So did you draw it yourself?
