What kind of gamer are you? (Non Warhammer gamer)

[The Dark Lord Mr Fluffy]

What kind of gamers (If you actually game) are you? And I mean computer games for those still thinking its warhammer after not reading the thread title very carefully.

So vote for your type of game, and tell us how you play it, what you listen to while playing etc.

For me its First Person Shooters, with blaring Death/Thrash Metal for a few hours at a time

[Grish]

First person shooters, as they have a very small learning time, and you generally don't have to progress the story before there's an excuse to get into the action.

Other game I've been playing in the last few months (when I have spare time): Rockband. Love that game with friends.

[Disciple of Nagash]

I've voted for the Final Fantasy one as thats the games that most stuck in my mind but I also love games like Mario / Zelda, (you've forgot driving games which I'm pretty good at). FPS are ok but the only one I really and I mean really love is the Metriod Prime Series. When I got my Wii and realise it played gamecube games I went out and got all the series.

[Zephyr]

I like a lot of games but when I look at my collection RPG's really stand out. I can play them for hours on end with the table in front of me filled with food and drinks. Most of the soundtracks are really good by themselves or the dialogue is important so I don't need any additional music. If I play RTS or shooters though I like Metal/Industrial as loud as is humanly possible.

[Redna Xela]

Oeh, hard one, as I play different kinds of games, but I think I'm going for FPS, as those games really keep me behind my pc (if I play a single player fps that's good, I really keep playing it untill I have to leave. And I'll play it further when I'm back) And I don't really listen to music in the background when I'm playing, as it destracts me from the game

[Bug16]

The only game I'm currently playing is Quake Wars on PC as it's good to hop in and out of. I haven't got the free time to sit and play RPG's anymore.

[Danceman]

I voted sport...

I simply adore motorsport games.
Soccer and NHL games also make for alot of fun if you got a real life opponent.

I like FPS games alot but I´d take a good car/F1 game over a FPS game any day.

[Falahk]

agreed, add a nice beer and a good buddy and thes kind of games are ace(maybe thats exactly what we should play the next time i go to sthlm?)

and i also kinda like to play football manager 08(the sega one) every now and then

but my first love will still be RTS games, so thats what i voted for(possibly also turn based games in similar style, like CIV 2-4 and heroes 3), curently I play Europa Universalis 3 a whol lot(now with In Nomine expansion, this update simply made the game about twise as good)....and i have played this game for more then a year now in multi player

[Trevy the Great]

I like FPS, like Halo (That;s my favorite!) However my heart will always go out to the classic RTSs like Starcraft (2's coming out! Yay!) and Age of Empires. Therefore I list myself as an RTS fan.

[Xavier Darkmoon]

For me its mostly RTS, stuff like medieval 2 and Rome total war, occasionally I play RPG but only the good stuff like Neverwinter nights 1&2, baldur's gate 1&2, Icewind dale 1&2. With friends I usually play shooters (stuff like Timesplitters and destroy all humans)
Oh and I hate MMO's:devil:.

[midean]

I'm with Verarin. I like to play FPS's. Play Halo with my kid and I also am eagerly waiting for Starcraft 2 to come out... Love RTS games.

[Lord OniBane]

the rts are my current obsession. rpg's have not given me much satisfaction as far as feeling like i am playing the same game again and again. i miss when they didn't bore me fps are awsome for groups and i am gearing up for warhammer online.

[Boo]

fps, I just love halo, all the 3 games. And Call Of Duty too.

[Wolf Fang]

Probably mostly RPG's. I have quite an extensive collection of them to keep me happy during exams. A close second would be Stealth games like Splinter Cell. I love having to sneak around instead of simply shooting everyone you encounter (this is also why I have a Nosferatu as a VtM character).

I used to play race games though and I was quite good at them. Around the time I quit playing them, I was ranked 12th in the online European NFS Underground league (out of 5000 or so players), something which I'm still kind of embarassed about.

Cheers, Wolfie

[Kaptain Von]

You know what this poll needs? Capacity to check more than one box, that's what...

I mainly play RPG/adventure stuff (still rocking Neverwinter Nights after three years of owning it) and turn-based strategies. I don't like first-person anything (because I'm crap at anything first-person) or MMORPGs (I spend quite enough time in front of a screen as is), and I really hate build-em-up real-time 'strategy' (read 'real time resource management) games like the various Warcrafts. Still play 'em, but I'm a glutton for punishment.

[Raziel]

Stealth for me, MGS is the best series of games ever, the only one I'm missing is mgs1. Oh, and guns of the patriots, but that's coz I don't have a PS3 yet

[Belladamma Voltaire]

RTS of course.

Damn you Raziel, I have only just repressed my urge to play Metal Gear Solid and curse my lack of a PS3 for Guns of the Patriots. I do know the plot though.

Snake? Snaaake! SNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKE

[HereticLosMorte]

well...

i love first person shooters like CS, halo, R6, COD4, etc and play them alot but i also play alot of WoW, assassin's creed, guitar hero, etc that aren't so FPS.

don't get me wrong, most every game i have contains me having to kill SOMETHING. lol

i used to love soldier of fortune for the fact you could blow their kidney outta their abdomen with the heavy machine gun, or take off limbs, turn their head into a watermelon dropped from a 3rd story window, etc.... man, that gore was great.

Lol, I love doing that to people. Told my mate MGS4 was out he decided he wanted to play 3 again then remembered he'd sold his playstation2 but kept his MGS games. 'Twas fun.

[Vasquez]

Beat 'em up/Hack and Slash and Survival Horror with a twist of First or third person shooterz.
My favourite games include Silent Hill, Army of Two and Resident Evil 4

[Get of W'soran]

RPG mostly I think NWN and Elder Scrolls stuff =]

But I really like RTS games to Rome:Total War yayz

[Jack of Blades]

MMORPGs (at least I plan to once WAR is released, I got bored of WoW), and also Strategy games of any kind. I also play RPGs like Oblivion and Fable, or at least I used to play those. Galciv2, Company of Heroes, R:TW, Impossible Creatures... I also play CS:S, but that's just to play a less ''serious'' game with my mates. I play games that I can put my creativity and/or brainpower to good use, basically.
