I woted building too. Cleaning mould lines is maybe the worst thing I know. And when I'm finally done scraping and filing, I'm too sick of the models to even stand looking at them, and much less paint them o_o. (I have a drawer full of half empty sprues ).

And the next worst thing is priming (as I don't want to leave the few models I've actually managed to assemble and prime).

my only problem with priming is I have to get some what dressed and walk out side to the garage in what ever weather prime them on one side then in 30 mmin repeat the process.

@ DoN if you assemble all the models you need to pain 1st then paint them hide the ones you dont have painted (except for the one unit you are working on and setup a little display for you to look at.. it might help personaly I like to see all the models I need to paint.

@DS only a drawer lol, I have 3 dresser drawers teh top of my entertainment center 2 shelves on a book and teh bulk of my garage =P and thats just all my stuff, of my commission stuff thats my master bathroom =P

Building for me as well. There are aspects of building that I do like, I love to get creative with conversions. But I absolutely hate cleaning mold lines. OK, bust out the hobby knife, OK now the files, OK now the microfiles, OK now the fine grit sand paper, OK now the superfine steel wool, OK thats nice and shiny and clean, Prime...crap I missed some, repeat. It is so dang tedious.

I didnt vote, but they all have the chore perspective here and there! Mostly when it comes to rank and file figures, building, basing, and painting can become a chore! Priming, come on! a few sprays of primer and your done!!!!

I love actually building models, but hate removing mouldlines, especially when I know so many people who just don't bother.

I dislike priming, but it's got to be done and it doesn't require massive amounts of finesse, so I can do it last thing at night and paint in the morning, which is fun.

I love painting, but I hate batch-painting more than about half a dozen models at once. This is the reason I will not be revising my Vampire army and switching to the new models (that and I can't afford to).

I don't mind basing in and of itself, but it's often wasteful of materials unless I do a big batch (my basing matter comes in squeezy tubes... cursed, inefficient, inaccurate squeezy tubes), so I end up batch-basing... and I hate batch-anything, so I don't like basing. It also takes too long for PVA glue to dry, dammit.

It's a mixed bag, but I think basing is the part that bothers me the most. I'd happily buy pre-detailed bases and paint them if I didn't already have two large armies based in one style.

Assembling metal models. Blood Knights. Need I say more? I hate metal models with huge gaps in the molds, that need to be pinned. I hate greenstuffing too.

Other than that, I loathe painting.

Building for me. I hate removing mold lines and filling gap between diiferent metal components. Mostly because I'm crap at it. :)

Cheers, Wolfie

Pretty much have to agree with most here;

- building
- mold lines argh!
- getting the bits off the sprue
- glueing mini's together like Grave Guard with Greatswords (and getting the Greatswords in the wrong position or stuck on your fingers... )

I love building and converting. I try to make things flow so you can't tell it's not a single model. I'm still learning how to use green stuff. Not great at it yet.

Cleaning mold sucks for me. I don't own small modeller's files so trying to clean mold lines with a knife and other ghetto methods doesn't work too well.

You can pick up 10 decent needle files off ebay with P&P for £5. Seriously, buy some!

I hate painting, because I am never happy with my paint job so get dispirited and stop. Consequently I have a varghulf half painted, and that is it
