What to use for Lycni vampire?

Being that this talisman unleashes the power of the beast within the vampire, I picture a Vampire with this as undergoing a werewolf style transformation. To represent this, I want a suitably beastly model, but I'm unsure how far transformed he should be, whether it is a complete wolf-form/varghulf style transformation, or more just a bulking up, empowering sort of thing.

The problems are, I'm not sure if they are too far "beastified" for the talisman, and I'm not really sure I like the whole decaying look of the second one.

Any tips for suitable models or insights into what the lycni would look like are much appreciated

i would say these look too monstrous, but it would be great for a Varghulf. i say something less monstrous, more like half-vampire half-wolf sort of thing, if you get what i mean

Well they are both great,all though the first wolf looks tons better!
I think the top one could make a decent vamp,he just looks a little too big.

Yeah, really I want something in between the current vampire models and the top model I posted. The problem is I haven't seen anything like that online, and I'd really rather not try sculpting something so ambitious.

Well i doubt there is going to be any thing that is a mx between the model and a vampire model,so i say go for that one!
It's a brilliant model as it is,and unless your plaing in a tournie it won't matter.

Yeah, well it will be going into a beast-themed VC army, where all the vampires are more in-tune with their bestial instincts than the normal aristocratic vampire. For my flying model I think I will use the new winged vampire, unless I can find a better model.

After that I'll just need to decide whether ghouls will stay as is, or get some work done on them to make them more feral and beastly.

personally i use the Black Wolf mount from the DoW Hobgoblin general a few years back - can't remember the name but it was something Khan (not Oglah - he was the unit captain, not the general)

to me, the vampire in Wolf form should look like a true live (if deadlier) wolf, which is why i use that model. but i like both the options you posted

Id say using the top wolf as a varghulf in a carstein themed army would be excellent. That would tie in the wolf ideals of the carstiens and a kick ass model.
