Which vamp lord better?

It's for euro comp so there's a lvl 4 MN there as well, and so Redfury+Quickblood is not an option. Which is more survivable and overall better? Is the nightshroud worth anything? I'm also considering droping the Aura and Beguile as usually ppl pass the beguile anyway even at ld 6 or 7 usually with w BSB re-roll...what is your take on Beguile and nightshroud?

Personally, I would run the ogre blade instead of the GW. Gives the +2 strength and hits at I7. The Nightshroud works on a Wight King or vampire in B2B with the lord.

What unit are you running the lord in? Have you posted the list? Which comp are you running (Swiss/Swedish/etc)?

Of the options posted, I would run option 1 but, maybe consider this

VL with RF, ogre blade, ToP, dragonhelm, heavy armour, shield.

He's alone in a unit of 38 ghouls. ETC comp. There's a LVL 4 MN too.

I don't think you need a ogre blade on a vampire lord, a sword of might is usually more than enough.

I find you do need the Ogre Blade since there are more T5 enemies or units with 1+ saves out there then ever before. Lore of Life is getting big again with the new LZ book (DE's are using it as well) so cutting through some troops/characters who have been given an extra 2 or 4 points of toughness is easier with the OB.
I do say, though, that I have enjoyed using Sword of Might in the past as it let me have the kit I wanted at the time; 4+ ward, Dragonhelm, Sword, OTS.

Shadow is coming back, and you want that S7 over S6. This weekend I was flankedby 3 skullcrushers and a slaneesh chaos chariot, and my Enfeebling Foe'ed VL still made way with -2S to S5. He managed to take out the chariot and pipped a wound on an already wounded skull crusher to make the attacks on the unit only 2 skull crushers, 1 having to reroll successful hits.

My VL of choice is:

This build is a build i use in non-euro games. I also do exactly as u say, no quickblood but a book of arkhan nearby. I just hate the idea of getting a lvl 4 vamp lord general. I prefer my general never to cast a spell in battle. Had too many bad miscasts.

Why no Quick Blood? I would think you would want initiative order double hander or rerollable magic attacks?
