Yeah, I really miss the old Chapter Approved and Index articles.
Fortunately, I've got a load of back issues that I read from time to time.
By the way, I admire your dedication to the way of the nerd by counting all of the pages in White Dwarf.
it renews my faith in humanity somewhat.

Same, a friend of mine gave me a load of REALLY old ones, one of which included 'Next month: Plastic zombies!'

It wasn't hard to find out the number of pages involved in each thingy: they helpfully divide it up for you in the contents, and the 'new stuff' is always at the beginning. Then it was just a matter of finding how many pages were in the whole issue! So I'm not quite as sad as you might think-it only took a minute or so, and I had an exam to revise for so naturally I was procrastinating as much as I could...

Is it really a big deal if you have to wait a week or two? I'm the type that can wait months to see a movie in the cheap theater, but I know some people just can't wait. I don't know why.

What are the advantages of having it early (as that seems like it's the main gripe). It's not like current events or anything...

I think if you paid for film tickets in advance and then when you went to see it but were told you had to wait outside the theatre for ten days while other customers came and went, maybe you might get a bit frustrated? xD

I dont want it early just on the day or day after release.

So is it just the surprise of finding out that you get it late? If they're up front about it, letting you know full well that you get it cheaper, but you have to wait an extra week or two, would you still get it?

So because you know now that the way they ship is that you WILL get it later, are you going to cancel your subscription and just pay full price to get it at the store?

Im going to cancel because its getting worse content wise and there really is no excuse for it being so late.

They have reasons for their shipping policy being the way it is; I don't know what it could be, but there are reasons, you can bet your subscription on it.

Well nobody has mentioned the perk of the old WD himself, really usefull for my Nid and DE army's.. Guys, don't get down about GW, the bank manager bosses are all dooshbags, but the company itself is trying its best..

I still love WD the mag though, even though there is less general articles, because of all the new stuff, at least we get a decent battle report, and the new stuff is still an interesting read.

Whudiodes everyone hate GW, I mean, does anyone know what the price it is to make one new plastic sprue?

I dont hate GW, I think they're great and I'm grateful for the games and universe they have created. Their prices don't bother me overly, and while it would be nice if they were cheaper, they are a business and need to make a profit. And I understand the reason for not sending WD out early, they want to control news on their products, fair enough.

However, It doesnt take 8+ days to post something.

After reading my previous posts on this, they seem a bit snippy, for which I'm sorry. The lateness winds me up, but in the big scheme of things... xD

I don't hate GW (although charging us more for finecast when resin is only a fraction of the price of metal was rather cheeky).
What I dislike is that when I subscribed to WD I was promised my mag would arrive up to a week early. It hasn't done that for over a year and only last month am I given an explanation (which I happen to believe has got nothing to do with why they were late for the previous 11 months).

I also complain about the content, but that's because I'm in it primarily for the painting, modelling and background. So when I first subscribed there would be articles like Index Astartes and the like every month which were full of fluff, that often had nothing to do with the army being released that month.
It was also full of painting, modelling (who else missed Dok Butcha'?) and terrain making articles. With only 10 pages at most dedicated to the new release.

So while I don't feel that WD has lost quality (the photography is waaay better than it ever was before), I feel it places a little too much emphasis on the new releases, which reduces it re-readability factor.

Just my personal opinion, Monkey

Hmm, I see where you're coming from, but, after a brief search, I can't did anywhere that say tha you actually get WD early if you are subscriber.. Frankly I only subscribe due to the fact it gets delivered to my door, as being ins chool means that I can never get to my local GW, half an hour away, and the price reduction.

I have to admit that I like the increased 'new stuff' content, as the painting, modelling and fluff articles are all still there, but are all now focused on one particular see every month, which helps me to file them and everything, eg. "hmm I wonder how u should paint these new eldar models, let's check out the WD on eldar" etc, etc.

Yeah, they seem to removed that from subscriptions now.
I only remember it happening in the last three months or so, which is a lot more recent that when they started getting later.

There are still some hobby articles in there, it's mainly the hordes of old background articles I'm pining after.
